Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a good evening. This is, I think, the tenth edition of the annual thread dedicated to those among us who, for whatever reason, find ourselves solo on the night before Christmas.
Here in my cozy habitat, it's just me, my faithful hound and, a little later, Ralphie Parker and then George Bailey will make his yearly appearance.
The presents are wrapped and under the tree. After dinner, I'll imbibe a latte and then maybe a little vino.
Anyone else solo tonight?

If you lived closer, you could spend it here. We’re not doing anything.
Right now it’s just Jesus and me. You can’t do better than that! . . . .but I do have a 14 year old beagle, a hound from the pound and two 10 year old cats (brother and sister) that are keeping warm by the fire.

Daughter running the liquor store til midnight, and my sons kids are at their mothers this weekend
I like the peace and quiet of nothing moving on the roads for a few hours

Just husband and I and two dogs. Got my first crock pot today and putting on a butternut squash recipe with brown sugar, maple, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, pepper and butter. This caused a major family fracas when I burned it last time (still yummy when you avoid the black parts), so I’m hoping this new way of cooking will usher in a peaceful future. And instead of being nagged to check the pot, which didn’t save me last time, I can have a nap with my trusty timer at hand. I really tried to remind husband that the reason we put an attic fan in the kitchen was this small, little problem of mine. (Did you know you can save burnt pot roast by scrubbing it under running water?)
