God’s grace is greater than baptism. Only He knows the final outcome.
Agreed, but we ought to do our best to give and acquire the means insofar as He provides them.
I’d hope that someone who rips up a picture of the Pope wouldn’t seek baptism for her child without a change of heart. But I’m not Irish and am a big fan of integrity.
Back in the day she was the only women I ever saw who could pull off having no hair and look beautiful. Sadly, she is a troubled soul.

I feel empathy for her loss, but I wonder how much her behavior contributed to this boy’s state.
Don’t follow celebtards, but I did a search and found this from an article on her from 2015, after she had attempted suicide:
In return, O’Connor had some things to say to her four kids including her sons Jake, 28, Shane, 11, and Yeshua, 8, and her daughter, Roisin, 19. “You’re dead to me. You killed your mother.”
At a time when a minor can get an abortion or a COVID vaccine without the knowledge of a parent, I’m trying to understand what legal authority a hospital would have to detain someone against his will in the absence of a court order or arrest warrant.
My sentiments match yours exactly, pray for this woman in her darkest hour...
I would not be surprised if she also follows her son with a suicide at some time in the future. She posted this herself, in 2017:
We lost our son four years ago. I’m not seeing what is funny here.
We have a mental illness crisis in this country. And I’m not talking about those who whine and complain about having depression and needing safe spaces - that is a cultural crisis and lack of coping skills. I’m talking about the truly mentally ill who populate the streets and prisons due to the failure of the medical industrial complex to properly treat these individuals. I’m not looking for miracles or cures, but proper and affordable treatment, therapy and facilities.
Well said. FR isn’t what it used to be when I first joined in 2000.
Losing a child to illness or accident is unimaginably devastating. Losing a child to suicide is its own special h*ll.
Amen to that... thanks for posting.
You know why she did that right? Her reasons were proven to be correct.
I feel for her…
If he was admitted and on suicide watch and underage, how the hell did he get out?!?
I don‘t think her questions are unreasonable at all.
You have a child who is suffering, you get them help and then the folks who are supposed to help let him walk out?!?!
I am no fan of this woman’s political actions or stands but as a parent, I do feel for her.
It's not funny. It's tragic on many levels. She had issues with the Catholic Church (which from her experience may have been justified). She has been lashing out for years and has clearly suffered emotionally. If the hospital wasn't monitoring her son properly, they are culpable. However, I can't help but wonder what affect her personal demons had on her son.
One of our good friends lived an alternate lifestyle. After a break up, he fell into deep depression and took his life. What was especially sad was it was his mother’s third son to take their life. Can’t imagine the hell that woman went through.
I could imagine what he endured; the very headline is misleading (and geared as clickbait for an American audience) because her name is “Shuhada Sadaqat” - she converted to Islam (and wears a hijab).
She’s just such a has-been that nobody would even read the story if they led off with that name instead; nobody would even recognize it.
I was thinking the same. The son is the spitting image of mom. Suicide is a very sad, tragic thing. Poor kid never had half a chance with that extreme nutjob for a mother.
I have absolutely NO IDEA who this person is, I am not being sarcastic!!
