Newspeak is alive and well in the "diversity and inclusion" offices of academia.
Anyone who is familiar with the Dystopian (and alarmingly relevant) novel “1984” by George Orwell is familiar with the concept of ”Newspeak.” In short, “Newspeak” is the language that the citizens of the autocratic future superstate “Oceania” speak, and it basically works by drastically reducing the number of words in an individual’s vocabulary or in the dictionary that the state deems “unnecessary.” Of course, the real purpose of “Newspeak” is to eliminate words that might cause an individual to think about ideas contrary to the state’s agenda and authority and in turn act on those thoughts and undermine the power of the state or even overthrow it. If words like “revolution” or “freedom” or “rights” don’t exist, then no one knows what the concepts behind them mean and no one is the wiser that they can have any of them, and the state still has loyal subjects.
Well, the left has been engaging in their own kind of “Newspeak” by trying to eliminate words like “meritocracy” and “win,” “fail,” “superiority,” “earned,” and “liberty.” The left wants to supplant these American concepts with a new form of tyranny: “equity,” “diversity,” and “inclusion.”
You will hear these three words uttered almost anywhere you go today. You hear left-wing media pundits and talking heads bloviate endlessly about these ideas in television. You hear major national and international corporations put out slogans like, “we are seeking to strengthen our business through equity, diversity, and inclusion.” You see references to these three buzzwords incorporated into almost every syllabus, curriculum, in the mission statement of almost every college and university now, and you hear radicals scream endlessly about it through bullhorns on streets corners.

We should all call this Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE).
Conservatives just SUCK at messaging.
DIE instead of alternatives has been obvious for months at least, yet too many conservatives are too dim too pluck this low-hanging fruit.

i think it is interesting how “equity” popped up all of a sudden and spread quickly.
actually heard tv news used “equity” and “equality” interchangeably as if they were the same thing.
equality is equal opportunity in a free society
equity is equal outcome in a tyrannical society
equity is tyranny

People in foreign lands recoil in alarm at a USA armed with nuclear weapons and so unstable and overwhelmed with madness.
Even America's adversaries watch in alarm--and bolster their own militaries to protect their own citizenry.
Millions of Americans have allowed themselves to be groomed by their corrupt politicians and their lackeys into believing the Orwellian madness, corrupt people who are willing to sell America to the highest bidder and to sell every man, woman, and child in America into slavery, for their own profit, privileges, self-interests, and power.
It is no coincidence that the Democratic Party was--and, in this sense, still is--the Party of Slavery.
The name itself of the Democratic Party is newspeak. There is nothing democratic about it.
Newspeak is the language of American madness. Its advocates call themselves liberal and progressive, though they are in fact the opposite. They claim to be woke, suggesting that they have somehow awakened to something; whereas in reality they are benighted. What they preach is the opposite of enlightenment. They profess tolerance, freedom, and open-mindedness, but they demand intolerance, totalitarianism, and oppression. They preach equality, diversity, and inclusion, but they practice inequality, conformity, and exclusion.
They have lost their way and, wittingly or unwittingly, have led millions of Americans into madness.
The terrifying reality is that millions of Americans have allowed themselves to be duped.
Orwell's nightmare (note tagline) was prophesy. His date was only about 40 years too soon.
Back in the 90s, they called those “quotas”
It’s like the George Carlin routine about how they always have to increase the number of syllables they use to scribe things (from shell shock and battle fatigue all the way up to post traumatic stress disorder), we can’t call them quotas anymore. Quota is only 5 letters and two syllables, and the word gained far too much baggage to keep using.
The reason for inequality is inequality
That is true.
It should be changed slightly to DIE or even IED (improvised explosive device), but that is what it is intended to do, kill the country or blow it up.

Are ideas and political philosophies covered under this DIE, or does it only apply to skin color?
Equity = You will have nothing and like it
Diversity = All races

I’m terrible. I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years (under MarDav, another year or so under a previous screen name) and I still know/have learned so little. Around here, I feel like an old dad (which I am) talking to his teenage son sometimes. Out of the loop.
