The jury is still out on Aspirin. 100 years of data, billions, if not trillions, of doses. It’s too early to say for sure if it is a good idea ...

The one thing Science does know for sure, is that those COVID vaccines are damn near perfect, with nary a side effect.

What I know: I use it all the time and it doesn’t seem to cause me any issues. A good friend gets an upset stomach even with enteric coated aspirin, so he doesn’t use it. I think both of us are reasonable.

So many studies are about “association” that I’ve almost given up on “science”, although my degree was in Biology and I loved studying science in the 70s!

If it turns out to cure COVID than experts will finally be able to close the case on Aspirin: it’s deadly poison.

When the experts toggle back and forth on if something is good or bad, the difference is likely so miniscule that in moderation it doesn’t matter. It’s likely just a ploy to get more reseach money, notoriety, or push an agenda.

In case of a potential heart attack, a large aspirin plus hot pepper (capsaicin) can be a life saver.

Aspirin is like everything on the planet.

It has it's good uses and bad uses.

Life saving in some cases, death dealing in others.

Anyone who is puzzled by this should spend some time in a library.

For most of my life aspirin was my wonder drug. When I had a headache or muscle pain nothing was better.

Now I can’t touch it because of chronic leukemia and low platelets. My doc allows me a 200 mg ibuprofen occasionally because it only makes my few platelets “slippery” for a few hours. Aspirin is right out because it makes platelets slippery for a week. For me a regimen of aspirin would pretty much guarantee a brain bleed eventually.

The word is that if aspirin were a new drug being introduced today, the FDA would be saying; “No way, Jose!” This acetylsalicylic acid is a descendant of salicylic acid, a derivative of ancient folk medicines centered around willow-bark tea. To me, it appears that it is great for the young to middle-aged. The very young and seniors need to be cautious. Beyond that, I trust my doctor and continue low-doses of it, moderate coffee and alcohol drinking.

Yep, I am going to die ... sometime and from something! Maybe I should quit eating tomatoes (or is it tomatos?)! PS: If you ignore what “experts say”, you will take a lot of stress OUT OF YOUR LIFE!

I am breaking away from never-before posted studies because Daniel1212 has done an excellent job of bringing together pain medicine studies posted to Free Republic over many years. Do remember you can search Free Republic on words in titles or keyword areas for your own health issues.

Thank you, Daniel1212!
