LOL Yep. Back in the day, my dad and I would watch the ‘Skins and he called Billy ‘Ol’ Wobble Ball’. He’d never win any prizes for technique, but he’d get the ball downfield.
The “Cleveland Guardians” is far and away the most ridiculously-stupid name in sports. I’m thinking it might not last long.
If they were going to change the name, I was hoping for The Cleveland Rocks. There’s that great song, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland, and best of all they could have had a cool giant rock as their mascot.
It would have been a marketing bonanza for the whole city.
Who actually picked the name? I went over that bridge a zillion times and never noticed the “Guardians” LOL.
I have no clue, but whoever it was was definitely deep into “Woke.”

Those were great days. Sonny was one of the best defense readers of his day. With a so-so line and no running game to brag about he and Charley Taylor were amazing. Defenses always keyed to the pass play, made no difference to Sonny and Charley, long bombs, short passes for first downs Sonny and Charley did it with style in the face of rushes and double coverage on Charley.
My favorite Jurgenson comment: Sonny Jurgeson's reply to comment about his notable pot belly, "I throw with my arm not my stomach."

Well, first, they changed the name to Football Team.
Football Team? Kiddin’ me. Who thought that up?
Don’t ask. So anyway, they now are the Commanders.
Commanders of what?
Before they ruined the NFL, and before Snyder destroyed the Redskins, I loved listening to Sonny’s commentary. Great guy!
Charlie Taylor, btw, was a childhood hero of mine.
Charlie Taylor was great ...and I was never even much of a Redskins fan.
Rest In Peace, Good Sir, and prayers for your family and friends.
But, gosh this news makes me feel old...
