A different perspective for you:

Democracy was under attack in Ukraine since 2014 when anti-Russian Western Ukrainians overthrew the rightly elected President, Yanukovych. This is just a continuation of 7 years of anti-democratic actions, which were started by the Western Ukrainian people. The ethnically Russian Eastern Ukrainians will be home with their Russian brethren soon enough.

Then why is Ukraine fighting Russia so hard?
If they were being oppressed by anti-democratic elections, you’d think they would welcome Russian interference.

It’s clear Ukraine is voting through their actions to reject Russia.

It is Western Ukraine that is providing most of the opposition to Putin. The far-Eastern Ukraine has essentially seceded from Ukraine back in 2014. Eastern Ukraine hates the Ukrainian government.

Little Pukin speaks of uniting the “Russian World”.

Right now he is bombing the Russian World to unite it.

We tried that in Vietnam (got to destroy the village to save it). Didn’t turn out so well.

Either way, the killing is unforgivable. Can I get a witness?

Part of me thinks of Russia as a better long-term ally than Germany, France, etc. There are troubling things about Russia, but there are also troubling things about the Western European countries.

I don’t know.

I think Putin is stirring things up there. It would be interesting to see if somehow you could get some fair voting in those regions to see what the people actually favor.

The killing is “unforgivable”? Was the killing during the American Revolution “unforgivable”?

My main agenda here is that I do not want any American military intervention in this foreign war. I hold the same view that just about every elected politician had for the first 125 years of our nation’s existence. And the media is gaslighting the American people to go to war.

Staring into my not-so-crystal ball, I think if Russia is taken out of the equation, Turkey will be the next one we’ll have to deal with.

Erdogan will have the support of the Muslims across Europe as he rebuilds The Ottoman Empire, Putin is in his way, but he’s positioning himself, with the help of NATO, to eventually reap the benefit, should Russia ultimately fail here.

But I’m also not buying that Putin only wants the eastern oil rich parts.

He clearly amassed an invasion force to take all of Ukraine.

And the Belarusian leader showed a map that has Russia taking all of Ukraine and Moldavia.

Putin could have stationed much fewer forces in eastern Ukraine, without all of this blood shed. Putin clearly wants it all.

It’s too hard to rule over people who hate you. Putin will sue for peace and demand Ukraine renounce all claims on Eastern Ukraine.

Regardless of merits, the best outcome to avoid a chemical or nuclear war started by a desperate Russia will be a stalemate. Following that, a partition into West and East Ukraine, and the West will try to outlast Putin and his successors in Cold WAR II.

Bad for many reasons, but better than total annihilation.

Nobody has even discussed what happens if Turkey, Iran, Syria and Israel get dragged into the conflict. Even worse.

Poland and Hungary (Orban has broken off his friendship with Putin) may meet him in Western Ukraine.

Wasn’t that done with the help of zero and brandon??

Sadly and that it has to even be stated that there are few true Ukrainians in Eastern Ukraine because they’ve been massacred and replaced with ethnic Russians 100 years ago Just like the Turks did in Armenia
