The best actor award winner tarnished the reputation of the academy forever by showing what a buffoon that he is. Will Smith after first laughing at the joke, then smacking Chris Rock, then blubbering about respect and how hard his lot in life is while turning on the water works has discredited the Hollywood elite... all of them have now lost the moral high ground and the respect of the public.
I can't wait to tune into the freak show next year to see what happens. Yes, the brilliant "publicity stunt" worked perfectly. /s

it would have only been better if Will or Chris had a Subway sandwich.
Nobody will ever say it was a publicity stunt.
But, it sure seems very coincidental. Will Smith goes up there and punches Chris Rock. Then, later in the evening, Will Smith is back up there having won his Oscar. And everyone was all ears to hear what he would say, considering what happened earlier in the evening.
If this wasn’t some planned stunt, it sure played out to garner lots of publicity.

Will Smith said his mission is love, or something esoteric like that. If that’s love, I’d hate to see him when he’s in an unloving mood.
