Since the premiere of real-life criminal drama shows "The Dropout" and "Inventing Anna," America has become enraptured with the stories of Elizabeth Holmes and Anna Sorokin. Each series resulted in numerous hot takes on social media, with discourse around how two women managed to dupe the country's "elite" and heads of multi-million dollar companies, using what turned out to be elaborate schemes.
We are not here to discuss whether the victims of these scams deserved their fates, or whether the consequences matched the crime, but rather illuminate one fact that has become clear with these stories: these women were only able to execute scams of this magnitude because of the way they look. It simply would not have been possible had they been Black.

I always thought she had runaway bride eyes. AKA crazy eyes, where you can see the sclera for 360 degrees around the iris.
I’m not sure if the author actually saw “Inventing Anna” but most of the money that she actually scammed was from two other women.
One was a wealthy older socialite who used Anna as a gopher to pick up and pay for her haute couture wardrobe where Anna tacked on a fortune of her own using the woman’s credit card.
The other woman was her friend Rachel who was awed by Anna’s style and stupidly used her Vanity Fair corporate credit card to pay for their “vacay” to Majorca. Neither of these scams had anything to do with Anna’s beauty and more to do with the gullibility of people with more money than sense.
The good news is that between the money from her book and the Netflix hit she has not only paid all her restitution payouts but has a large chunk of change left over to complete her art museum dream. In the words of Yakov Smirnoff, “What a country!”.
It’s some what you say, some that people were looking to support a woman CEO outside of all sense because politically correct wokism.
Whatever my beauty standards are, they are by definition current.....for me.

A good looking black woman with the right style and attitude could pull off the same scam Anna Sorokin did. Pretend to be the daughter of some Nigerian oil billionaire, and con the same people Anna did.
No wonder Amanda Syfried is playing her, big eyes.

There’s a Netflix series on Sorokin called Inventing Anna. My wife binge watched it a month or so ago, and I sort of 1/2 watched it from across the room while FReeping and doing other things. It was sort of interesting in a watching a train wreck of stupidity way.

Holmes isn’t quite what I would call a beauty, and she didn’t doll herself up to maximize what she had. She decided to cast herself as a female Steve Jobs (who was more jughead Jones than Cary Grant), which worked until it was discovered that there was nothing behind it.

The issue they are talking about is perceived beauty. Perceived beauty is world wide phenomenon in scope and agreement, not just a White thing. Unfortunately the author is too ignorant or agenda driven to know this.
Why not both?
I tend to view these claims through the lens of Hitchen’s Razor: “What is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence!”.
This may be a DNA trait and/or the ability to sense B$ before most people do.
It is also a skill that can be honed and perfected.

Not if you study media messaging. Look at advertising commercials as just one xample- Black men / white women. It’s never white men / black women and rarely, black male / black female. The message - black women are unattractive in physical attributes and even less attractive in poise, composure and communication skill
The media and pop culture message about black women is that they make good maids, waiters and government worker drones. Who doesn’t despise government teat sucking freeloaders?
Even Hollywood production companies hate the black female now because of forced casting (equity) requirements.
The finger waving, obese, entitled black female with a superiority complex is a carefully and deliberately crafted media / government stereotype and no other protected democrat class person is lower in this society than that and the thing is, they will keep watching the idiot box, buying those advertisers products and voting for the very people that make them subhuman in perpetuity
Yeah, right! BLM just might be the greatest charitable scam in history. $11 billion in corporate and private donations and nothing given to the black communities. Nothing to show for it except lavish mansions and rockstar excess for a handful of leaders at the top and their entourage.
