CINCINNATI — The first step on the pathway to a new Bengals lease has been taken and last season's fan of the year is happy to see it happen.

"We've invested in that, both of these stadiums," said Jim Foster, commonly known as "Bengal Jim" referring to Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium. "They have to be maintained or it's going to cost us more."

Lived in Cincinnati from 1992 'till 2009. A portion of this time was during the 'Lost Decade' when the Bengals were one of the most abysmal teams in the NFL.
In spite of this Mike Brown (owner of the Bengals) managed to fenagle a new stadium, largely at tax payers expense, out of the residents of Hamilton County (greater Cincinnati area).
Cincinnati is a great city ... their issue, for some reason, they suffer from a inferiority complex. Mike Brown threatens the city with the age old ... I'll move the team if you don't fold to my demand for (1) a new stadium (2) improvements to the stadium the city has already built per his earlier threats. Cincinnati should tell Mike Brown to stick his threats where the sun don't shine.
They won't of course ...

St. Louis would give Mike Brown a $2 billion stadium to move his team there.

You gotta pay up or they’ll move. It’s Cincinnati so they don’t have a choice.

Nah, they’re heading to San Diego. Mikey Boy Brown and his daughter Katie both live in LaJolla now and San Diego is building a new stadium in Mission Valley for SDSU that can be quickly expanded to NFL capacity in 4 months if/when the NFL returns.

Mikey-Boy will bolt Cincinnati for San Diego in 2027.
