Little Round Top is expected to remain open through July 5, the National Park Service said recently. The rehabilitation project, when it starts, will take about 18 months to complete. The site will close to the public when work begins.
Meanwhile, crews continue to make repairs at Devils Den, which remains closed to the public.
This five-time visitor to Gettysburg and its battlefield wishes one and all a blessed and safe Memorial Day weekend.

A blessed Memorial Day to you also, my friend.

Link?
Probably just erecting illegal immigrant housing. Or maybe internment camps for naughty Constitutionalist Americans.
Visited there probably a dozen times over the years.
It’s always inspiring.
bump for link
Did the Park Service lumber off Little Round Top? It was bare in 1863, and a mature forest the last time I was there.
I searched assidulously for a link based on the information above, but failed. Now you’ve really piqued my interest.
Thank you!
Thank you.
Attention moderators: The OP was my second attempt at linking/threading the article. The first attempt, I substituted my own title because IMO the YDR’s headline was/is slightly misleading. The thread was pulled before you could say “of the people, by the people, for the people” because it had a “fake headline”. I can understand auto excerpting, but are linked articles thread titled with “my title” (ie a title of the thread starter’s creation) now forbidden on FR?
