Hey! I plow up a LOT of land around here. How come I never find these Roman coins in MY fields?

When I was a kid in Mississippi, I used to look for arrowheads in freshly plowed fields especially right after a rain! They are worth $ nowadays!....................

There is an 80 acre field adjoining our property. 40 years ago it got plowed by a local farmer once a year for corn and was full of arrowheads and large potsherds.
Around 20 years ago a commercial grower operation bought it and has heavily worked the ground plowing, harrowing, grading and moving soil around. Now all you can find are small broken bits of arrowheads and tiny potsherds.

North America was one of the last continents to be civilized.
With hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and extreme weather, not many wanted to live here. Besides the natives were hostile to foreigners.

Plowing our fields near a medium sized river, yields lots of Indian arrowheads; legend has it Indians had encampments near the river & fished there.
