Code of Vets blasts Jon Stewart: "You do not speak for us"
twitter ^ | Aug 1 | Code of Vets

@codeofvets

Replying to @jonstewart

You are not a veteran. You do not speak for us. You made it about politics. It is about the $400B. It is infuriating but expected.

The PACT Act needs to state:

$280 billion for toxic exposure health care. That is it.

The additional $400 BILLION needs to be removed.

John Stewart—another woke, unfunny “comedian.”

Bullsheet....I am vet just finished 8 weeks of radiation due to AO exposure...

In June 85 senators voted for this, but after the Manchin-Schumer deal these brave GOP asshats decided we’re going to show those mean old Dims and demonstrate again the GOP doesn’t care about the Veterans who have served.

I question the fact the bill is $650 Billion, what exactly is all this money for? Then there is a rider of some sort for another $400 Billion that has nothing to do with this bill at all.

Probably the same thing the 85 senators voted for in June...

This is political pay back pure and simple....and to hell with the Vets

I see it as a lot of money so just how much is really needed for treatment for the Vets, surely not $650 Billion or even $280 Billion. What is the real reasonable number?

“Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.”
- Samuel Johnson, 1775

Beware of the ulterior motives of those who claim to support veterans.

If Stewart is sincere about his support, he shouldn’t condemned for it.

I don’t particularly like the guy. And he seems kinda miserable.

I sincerely regret your health problems. And hope for a speedy recovery from treatments.

However, this is not the same bill . HR 3967 Honoring Our Pact Act of 2022.Passed House in March, 2022. Passed Senate in June, with Amendments attached. It was/is not a "clean bill." Lots of unaccounted for $pending.

Although it adds Hypertension and Monoclonal Gammopathy to list of Presumptive Illnesses, it does not take effect until Oct. 2026 for hypertension. Unless the Vet is 85 or terminally ill, homeless, or very destitute. See Sec. 404 of the bill.

HR 3967 has been passed back and forth between House/Senate for years no. Or similar type legislation.

If Stewart is sincere about his support, he shouldn’t condemned for it.

This short video of the confrontation (and eventual agreement) Jack Posobiec and Raheem Kassam had with John Stewart will help explain why he's been accused of 'politicizing' the issue.
