Los Angeles has lots of resources. City of Hope is highly regarded. If he can find an oncologist who specializes in that type of cancer, that will give him the best chance, as they will have access to more clinical trials and will be most up to date. Medicine is making amazing progress on the use of immunotherapy in cancers right now, though I don’t know if they are using it on gallbladder cancers.
My wife was diagnosed stage 4 melanoma with spread to her brain in 2017. She is now cancer free thanks to immunotherapy and a melanoma specialist at Cedars Sinai. 5 years earlier and she wouldn’t have lasted 6 months.
Pray and offer positive support and find a doctor who thinks rather than has been programmed. My wife, her sister and every familial offspring including our great-grand kids inherited a nasty cancer generating defect called Lynch Syndrome.
My wife contracted stage III colon cancer at 39. Uterine cancer at 44. She’s going to be 79 in October. Her sister has had multiple bouts with colon cancer and now our kids are starting to develop cancers too even though they are under medical surveillance and have been since becoming adults.
As you can see, cancer is terrible and it scares the Hell out of everyone around the person, but not everybody dies due to the cancer diagnosis. Prayer, solid support and good medicine can make all the difference. God Bless.
Is he former military that may have spent time at Camp Lejeune or one of the burn pit countries?
One of my concerns. He has HMO Kaiser so I don't know if they will go the extra mile. He has great bosses in a family run successful $$ business so I think they will step up if Kaiser is falling down.
“Is he former military that may have spent time at Camp Lejeune or one of the burn pit countries”
No, didn’t serve. Jimmah was just sworn in President when we graduated from HS. A bit of a downer.
Don’t miss post #18. That’s your gold right there.
“Los Angeles has lots of resources. City of Hope is highly regarded.”
I had good results with them ~18 years ago.
Very good advice. I have had to deal with something similar.

Yes, thank you. I think when I see him I’ll try to talk to his Wife alone for no other reason than to get her email address. I can send her info then she can decide if it’s something to bring to the table. I’m sure he is / will be bombarded with info and will be overwhelmed trying to filter through everything that will be going on. Poor guy, he just beat Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma less than three years ago.
The concerned man asked for advice, your reply seems to be the only on subject one I can see- PRAY, everyday, without ceasing, then get into a church that believes in God’s promises, healing, laying on hands, I have seen many healed by praying and laying on of hands.
I am of course disturbed by the amount on FR that do not believe in the Lord and his power.
My advice to those in need, Try Jesus, if you don’t like him and his promises, Satan will always take you back.
My dear friend died from breast cancer which had metastasized from the original bout 30 years prior.
I did exactly as you advise. Her husband knew that I would be there every Tuesday after quilting group. He was able to plan errands, shop, see doctors, etc.
Her friends did keep their distance and I think that bothered her. She did have our visits to look forward to.
Just be there for support. Ask what he needs and wants, then do your best to make that happen.
is it metastatic?

When we lived in SoCal we had Kaiser HMO, and we loved it. The hospital we used was in Woodland Hills, and there were satellite clinics everywhere.
We never felt that we got anything less than great care. Hopefully, he will have a similar experience.
Prayers for your friend 🙏
If cancer loves to feed upon sugar, then stay away from sugar and foods such as bread which will convert into sugar. Whole grain rice is listed as a beneficial food for those with cancer. White rice is useless.
That’s a wise way to handle it. Good thinking.
You (and he/his family) might also consult cholangiocarcinoma support forums. In my experience, you often meet very smart well-informed caring and generous people in such forums who have done extensive research, share their experiences, etc., wealth of info — and offer the kind of emotional support only those who have “been there” can. In many such forums, medical specialists and researchers in the field pop in and share information as well.
Here’s one such forum:

You can do an internet search to find others if you think it might be helpful.
Plus there is something about cancers when exposed to oxygen during surgery. Of course they can’t get every single cell. Sometimes it jumpstarts whats left into a faster growth mode.
First would be to cut out all processed sugar. If possible, all refined carbs too. Start starving the cancer that way.
I’ll just post there here. I cannot speak to it, I heard about it word of mouth a few weeks ago.
It’s natural supplement with powerful anti-cancer properties.
Here are the National Institute of Health Peer-Reviewed Studies on it.
