from James reeves and his 2nd A CHANNEL on youtube. Major points:
1) This was the day before SHOT SHOW (the biggest gun show on earth where a majority of the guests are armed)
2) He has a CCW which is valid in NV, and 40 states
3) Happened at the Venetian. (don't bring guns to the Ven! s/)
4) 01:40 drops off bags with bell hop--with his 2 Glocks inside (what a genius)
5) again, this is a day before SHOT SHOW and you'll see the booths being prepped at 9:00 (no one around)
6) security at the Venetian is ridiculous
I would say not.
Did they have it posted outside?
Did they warn you when you booked the room?
They’re betting you won’t sue.
Did they confiscate it, or simply detain it? :-)
They made it extremely hard to get it back, that’s for sure..
One of the reasons I stay at places where I handle my own bags and park my own car.
FWIW here is one article regarding recent Las Vegas Casino policies on guns.
https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/question/guns-casinos/
Why would anyone leave bags containing firearms with the bellhop unless they are Saturday Night Specials?
Did he call the police and report the theft?
Well, at least one casino in Reno has moving screening set ups with metal detectors. And the security cams and operators are pretty good. A friend was choking while eating in a restaurant and security popped up within about 30 seconds. Security had spotted it on camera. I dropped my wallet and did not notice my cash pop out until about ten minutes later. Security reviewed the video in the time frame i gave them thinking it had been stolen and the video showed something popping out. But not who picked it up.
I handle my own bags even at the posh places, ticks off some of the bellhops; but it’s my choice and I have had to address it with the pushy ones a few times.
Good question.
Reminds me of a random thought I have every time I visit my husband’s grave at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
I know the answer to the obvious question but it still bewilders me sometimes. The cemetery is posted at the entrance gate in full view of the majesty of the American flag blowing in the breeze.
A sign with a warning to all who enter not to bring firearms onto the premises.
Never give someone else who is not fully aware that they are being handed a firearm your luggage. Bad form in all circumstances.
This video has been floating around for a while. The guy is a jerk, and a drunk. Dumped bag with the valet, rather than securing it and the contained gun in his room. He was more interested in going out and getting drunk then taking care of his own gun.
No. Charge them with illegal search. A cop can’t search without permission or warrant. A stupid hotel clerk can’t search period.
It is private property. They can deny you entrance unless you follow their rules. Best to know the rules before you book.
Thanks for that. I find it confusing that it was on SHOT SHOW, the biggest gun show in the world.
Exactly. I’m a hand carry guy at the airports. Whatever I put in the luggage, I am prepared to lose it.
