I agree with his line here and more or less it’s a good article.
I think he falls a little too easily into some of the lefts talking points: 1. Conservatives are rough and crude 2. McCarthy and the smearing nonsense. Look it up, the release of the Venona papers have proven he was more or less correct. All this about the witch hunt, he never looked for witches. He looked for communists in the US government and media and he found quite a few.
“As for Mr. Trump’s followers, they belong to the Church of American Nostalgia.”
I just want the founding principles of the Republic to be followed. Abandon them, and that Republic is dead. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, on balance, F the WSJ. The editors are all RINOs. Occasionally they allow a conservative opinion at article in there by a guest columnist.
So Donald Trump is sort of a cross between a fraud and a bank robber?
WSJ must be a cross between spitball wadding and tp.
I agree—MAGA conservatives are NOT all “rough and crude.” I don’t fit that mold at all: female, graduate school educated, mannered, frequent visitor to Napa wineries. And I even live in the SF Bay Area and work for the federal government! I don’t fit the mold of a MAGA conservative (other than being married and churchgoing) and there are millions of us.
Although he seems to understand what is at stake Morrow tries hard to avoid appearing to agree with Trump.
There is no more time for these kinds of games.
The soul of America is rooted in Christianity.
The greatest attack by its enemy, the Marxist Muslim alliance most recently represented by Obama for three terms.
Go back and look at Bill Ayers, mentor to Obama. This is the guy who had hosted Obama’s first fundraiser to kick off his career .
Look at his political leanings and penchant for violencce
The Left advances their agenda; the Right gets caught up in correct labeling. The Left doesn’t really care what you call them. Of course the MAGA movement isn’t “fascist” in the conventional Current Year meaning of the word. The Left is advancing their agenda of normalizing depravity, while their putative opposition can be brought to a grinding halt by being accused of an ism. A weird old dementia patient crook called us an ism. So what?
“I know you are, but what am I?”
Did Ann Coulter help him to write this?
The pedo joe speech summed up: “Triumph of the Will.”
WSJ - gosh, with friends like these....
The elitist prigs and fools at the WSJ still act as if anyone gives AF what they write or think.
Another failing Swamp-based enterprise.
Democrats are the one who have been using political violence against the American people. Occupy Wall Street, Antifa and BLM are the Democrat's direct action street thugs and the FBI have become the Democrat STASI/NKVD
Democrats are the ones organizing and inciting riots and turning criminal loose in our cities to further their revolutionary goals.
President Trump was a reactionary and counter revolutionary who was effectively dismantling their revolution and setting things right in America with his MAGA agenda
The Democrats had a lot of Republican allies in their managed destruction of America as we know it.
President Trump did much to smoke these Republicans out.
That is the truth about the hatred the Washington Uni Party has for Donald Trump.
They have cast their lots with the other side and for them to do well, we normal Americans have to to bad.
They have placed short bets on the US economy and MAGA is simply the other side of the wager.
If MAGA wins, they lose.
It's that simple
They are actual fascists.
Eisenhowerite? The only person I would describe that way thought that was a great era because of the tax structure....soak the rich, build interstates. He’s a flaming lib on everything but abortion and the extremes of the LGBTQ+++ agenda, but as I like to remind him, he may not support tthose things, he votes for people that do.
FU, WSJ!
Shame more people didn’t join McCarthy. He was correct. There were communists throughout government. There are even more throughout government now.
Speaking of Joe McCarthy, I’ve recently read a very good biography of the man:
“Joseph McCarthy : reexamining the life and legacy of America’s most hated senator”. A fairly written bio, it goes into detail about Truman’s indifference, and sometimes outright support, of communists and their sympathizers in powerful administrative offices. Something Joe worked hard to push back against.
I’m sure some aren’t going to like the characterization of Trump, but I think it is more or less a good article as well. What makes it better than many others is that the tone is something that might work with a lot of anti-Trump types. He’s not putting Trump on a pedestal — just pointing out that Trump being who he is isn’t the real problem.
