‘Huge problem:’ Iranian drones pose new threat to Ukraine

It was a little over a week ago that Iranian drones first began appearing in the skies over Ukraine.

Andriana Arekhta, a junior sergeant with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said the drones flew from Crimea to attack her special forces unit fighting near the southern city of Kherson. The drones evaded the soldiers’ defenses and dropped bombs on their position, destroying two tanks with their crews inside.

“It’s very difficult to see these drones on radars,” said Arekhta, who traveled to Washington, D.C., last week as part of a delegation of female Ukrainian soldiers. “It’s a huge problem.”

Over the past week, Russia has deployed Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 combat drones imported from Iran in greater numbers across Ukraine, with devastating results. Some hit combat positions, smashing tanks and armored vehicles, while others struck civilian infrastructure, including in the port city of Odesa.

Female "special forces" in Ukraine? The media have opened a new front in the propaganda war.

“… Over the past week, Russia has deployed Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 combat drones imported from Iran in greater numbers across Ukraine, with devastating results…”

In addition to importing these from Iran, Russia will be MASS PRODUCING these drones domestically in huge numbers under license from the Iranian technology owners. Modern near peer warfare demands the use of drones to maximize lethality.

Not all who are attached to a special forces unit are actually themselves, special forces qualified. For example, in Afganistan, the US SF teams had female MP assigned to facilitate communications and searches of females.

I ASSUME that something similar is happening in this situation.

“… In the northeast, Ukrainian soldiers are trying to retake ground using Toyotas and other civilian cars — which are particularly vulnerable to drone attack — because their old armored vehicles were destroyed, Chobaniuk said.…”

Interesting. This explains the large number of destroyed civilian vehicles I’ve noticed recently in videos of destroyed Ukrainian military positions. Hadn’t seen much of that before in earlier videos and images.

How is Iran making drones? I thought Iran was sanctioned up the tailpipe?

Iran had a drone factory in Syria, but Israel destroyed that one.

Remember that drone that Obama wouldn’t let us destroy on the ground...that the Iranians captured? That’s how...
Obama isn’t White
Obama isn’t Black
Obama is red...through and through

I thought that the Iranian drones were useless pieces of junk? Now they are good?

Are the drones controlled by radio?

If so, there’s the answer.

This development confirms the ability of Russia to adapt and prevail.

This is a long-time characteristic of the Russian military.

I think it’s quite obvious we need to invade Iran. Them sending drones is a threat to our national security. Only a plodding, bloody and expensive war without victory can assure the US’s whatever the word of the day is for the deep state and the warmongers to justify another war...

This is another level of proxy war playing out. Iran sends drones to Russia, Israel sends anti-drone weapons to Ukraine.
