A North Carolina father-of-one spent 24 hours in jail for refusing to wear a mask as ordered by a judge despite no state or county mandates in place.

Gregory Hahn, 47, a US Navy veteran, was among several of 98 jury duty candidates called to Harnett County court who showed up not wearing a mask because there were no such rules or warnings in place, WRAL reports.

Despite the fact that masks aren't required in the building, Judge Winston Charles Gilchrist mandated that everyone in his courtroom wear a mask.

This is a great reason not to register to vote in that county. You could then be placed on a voters’ list and called for jury duty and treated like a criminal in this tyrant judge’s court. Much of America has become a lawless dictatorship like this.

I would file a formal complaint against the judge with the Judicial Inquiry Review Board for judicial misconduct.

Focuses on Public Confidence in North Carolina’s Courts and the Role of the Judicial Standards Commission

The North Carolina Judicial Standards Commission was established in 1973 to consider complaints against judges of the state’s General Court of Justice and, where appropriate, to make recommendations for discipline for the following:

District court judges

Superior court judges

Appellate court judges and justices

The judge should receive at least 24 hours in jail wearing orange.

I’ve filed these in the past and was involved in removing 3 different judges from the bench in my lifetime.

I know from experience that judges shake in their shoes when they get investigated.

I did that once. I was covering a rape trial for my local newsblog and the judge kept trying to close up the courtroom. Before I sent in the formal complaint, I had discussion with the sheriff and the DA, but they wouldn’t/couldn’t do anything about it. Once I sent in the letter, the problem was solved.

Sadly, registering to vote isn’t the only way to get on jury duty lists - now they take names from driver’s licenses and home ownership…

Right or wrong (wrong in this case) a courtroom is like a miniature fiefdom. The judges authority is absolute. If the judge mandates that everyone in his courtroom wear pink everyone must wear pink.

Judge Winston Charles Gilchrist mandated that everyone in his courtroom wear a mask.>>>>

Judges have a fairly wide discretionary power to regulate the decorum and format of their own courts......BUT this one is a bridge too far.

The good judge has gone off his rocker and has really opened himself to a question of what is constitutionally reasonable. If Hahn has any difficultu breathing or getting oxygen then there would be no question that the Judge is way out of line.

I’d like to see this idiot judge mandate that every one appearing in his court roomwear pink full body Halloween kangaroo suits, just to see what happens.

But the mask mandate has to show a clear connection between
risk and personal infection within the court. I do not believe that the judge can make that connection as a mater if fact. His mandadte violates the pesonal choice of citizens as to whenetehr they wear a mask or not. Its simply not his choice to make.

The judge should be in the general population of a prison that he has sentenced criminals. I’d say three years or death, which ever comes first would be just punishment. Just another leftist steaming pile of excrement.

And I hope the people who were there with Mr. Hahn and knuckled under are ashamed of themselves.

They’re rotten Americans.

I would hope that the people of Harnett County and the county commissioners are figuring out how to remove Judge Winston Charles Gilchrist
