How Boys Learn to Become Men
American Thinker ^ | 15 Oct, 2022 | Brian Bumbalo

What chance do our boys have if the behavior of snakes and sharks is the primary source of guidance?

With so many boys left to the fend for themselves, the claws of social media, television, videogames, and the internet have grabbed hold and corrupted them at a time when they are most vulnerable to outside influences. Since observational learning plays a critical role in development, studies have shown how this exposure is linked to anger, violence, and anxiety. What chance do our boys have if the behavior of snakes and sharks is the primary source of guidance?

While the absence of a father in the home has been shown to negatively impact children, the traditional family does not guarantee a positive impact. Parents must model the behavior and live the values they hope to instill in their children. This is important for both girls and boys; however, this article will focus on the significant role a father's behavior plays in the development of his sons.

There are numerous articles written about a generation of men who fall prey to "toxic masculinity," which leads to sexism, aggression, violence, and suppression of emotions. What better way to manipulate a gender-confused society then to attribute all male anger, violence, and sexism to masculinity? Other significant factors such as boys who are raised without a father, have poor role models, or have suffered abuse are minimized or purposely disregarded. This permits fitting all of these destructive male behaviors under the same umbrella, allowing the gender fanatics to demonize and pervert masculinity, thereby providing cover for turning boys into their "new version" of men.

Be tough, but in a sensitive way; be competitive, but focus on your opponent's feelings; be confident, but show your vulnerability. How is this supposed to work?

I really feel sorry for children growing up today. With all of the leftist garbage being pushed, how will they have a normal childhood?

Let’s hope the perversion isn’t as widespread as media would have us think.

The Devil’s favorite tactic is to “normalize” perversion by convincing us everyone does it.

The bad news: that tactic lures far too many people into perversion.

The good news: the vast majority of people are normal, despite what we see on TV.

We are victims of are own success. Capitalism, innovations and technological advances has helped to changed the typical stereotypes of society. The dynamics of men in this current horizon are plenty, more suicides, a general black pill in thought, the loss of ambition, etc.

So what are "we" waiting for? The war against boys and men can't continue without the willing cooperation or capitulation of men.

It began in 1968 after the murder of Bobby Kennedy. It was blamed on “violence” There was a discussion on how to make boys more feminine and less masculine.

I remember those days and the anti-gun anti-violence madness following the Kennedy murder by a Palestinian immigrant.

In that madness blame was placed on TV shows which were very mild, pulp fiction books, guns, movies made under the Hays Code.

So, TV shows dumbed down to kiddie shows, pulp books changed their covers, the 1968 gun control law was passed...

But movies got a pass when the producers said they would “police themselves” with a joke of a ratings system, the first being “GMRX”.

With the Hays code now dead they reshot scenes and added more blood, guts, and lots of sex to get the coveted “R” and “X” ratings.
Now with cable TV and video games it is even worse.

1) Reject passivity
2) Expect God’s greater reward
3) Accept responsibility
4) Lead courageously

/\

I don’t know about we, I do know about I.

I stood up to and fought.

In school , against situational ethics in English class.

Marxism is Social Studies
( previously known as U.S.History)

Then when after getting out of school I advocated against

Affirmative Action
that kneecaps the white male.

Planned Parenthood
( who told me I was great for wanting to have my child and would help me and my family, while they had the mother in a seperate roim telling her I was a bad choice and to abort the baby for her own good )

Welfare
( that enslaved one cuz you can never save enough to pay the month lag after getting a job to pay that intervening months rent , utilities and food. Encourages women to either not marry or divorce the dad and go on welfare for life)

No fault Divorce
( aka high noon , whoever fires first or has the bigger cash/ connection wins )
+
(Woman and child for onto welfare)
+
( man gets hit with a support amount based on POTENTIAL wage. Not the wage he actually brings in, not even if he appeals and showed checkstubs to prove it. No. Potential wage always more than the man makes)
+
( loss of drivers license when he doesn’t pay potential wage determined support, and if he gets caught driving to a job will have his car impounded and get hit with to wage fees and ever growing tow storage fees and eventually credit wrecking collection agency judgement and garnished wages that will keep most employers from hiring you at all )

I’ve spoken out about all of this for decades.

So , I don’t know about we
,, just I.

Ymmv.

oYmmv.oh, forgot.

The one way out if you’re the victim of all the above.

Work under the table, aka join the dishonest ends justifies the ends ilk.
Aka
Be immoral to be moral.
Or
Crime
Or
drug dealing
Or
Grifting.

But that’s just another attack
on real dadhood.

Real dad’s aren’t crooks who teach their children to be crooks.

That’s great that you’ve spoken out against all of this, but in regards to the men’s rights issues, how much support did you get from other men? OTOH, when you lost, how many were the result of decisions made by other men?

This is what happens when you go 50+ years without a major war.

It’s a sad fact of human nature, but true.

I was out walking with my wife and 11 year old son today. Beautiful fall day in Massachusetts. We were walking through a field and I said to them this is the type of field we played “guns” in when I was a kid (I was born in 1970).

All the neighborhood kids would agree on the field or patch of woods ( almost all boys, not sure what the girls were doing) where we would play guns. We all had multiple toy guns, or homemade wooden guns, sometimes unloaded BB guns, etc.

We’d cobble together military “uniforms” and have at it. Hours of fun. Nobody would bat an eye at 5 kids walking down the road all armed with various toy guns.

When we were a little older we’d have “wars”. These were teams of kids armed with homemade wooded swords, shields, spears, chain maces, etc. We’d camp in the woods and hunt each team down and battle through the night. My parents could care less that I was sleeping in the woods.

The kids these days do all this online. They battle with video controllers, talk on headsets, play for hours. All 3 of my boys do this, all “ shooter” games. So you can argue too much screen time, but the overall theme is similar. My kids are trying to “kill” their friends in a video game shooter or teaming up to kill another group of kids.

Would I prefer they were out beating the crap out of each other in the woods? Probably, but that ship has sailed. Either way, I’m not worried about my kids masculinity.

But man did I have a fun childhood that lead to 24 years in the Army.
