The artist formerly known as Kanye West could face a lawsuit from the family of George Floyd for spreading the incorrect and unproven narrative that he died of a drug overdose during his wildly controversial Drink Champs podcast appearance.
Civil rights attorney Lee Merritt posted on Twitter Sunday that a lawsuit against Ye is under consideration based on the disgraced artist’s “false statements about the manner of his death.”

That’s not libel - just an opinion and not at all lawsuit worthy.
If anything Floyd’s family should be sued by all those who lost loved ones and businesses in the summer of love in HIS name.
Is this new ground? What a jury finds is now incontrovertible truth? As I recall, Floyd had 11 ng/ml of fentanyl in his blood, which was well over the limit of 3 or 4 ng/ml that is, let’s say, “problematic” in other people. But if a jury finds that the officer actually killed him, then it’s now an actionable statement to claim a drug overdose?
They saw the Sandy Hook judgement and figured they’d cash in as well. Anything to scam a buck.
This line gets old here. How do you figure it will be interesting when there's already an official verdict on a defendant whose attorney tried using the same claim in a criminal case (where the standards are higher)?

They won’t go there.
Is the family going to try to deny that 1) George Floyd was a drug addict? 2) that he was under the influence of drugs on the day of his death? 3) that fentanyl — a drug that suppresses normal respiration — was not found in his blood stream?
They’d need a judge to refuse any evidence but the official coroners report.
You can’t slander the dead.

If they can sue AlexJones for his free speech they will come after EVERYONE who’s remarks they don’t like!! It is WAY PAST TIME that we start doing the same, go after Whoopi, Joy, and the rest of the crew on the View!! Trump is starting with CNN but we have to FLOOD THE ZONE with law suits!!
I saw a promo on either history, discovery or a&e about a st george documentary, that family is sure on the grift train
What’s weird is that someone could have drugs in their system and still be murdered.
