BEAST week has been a major part of basic military training since 2006, and offered airmen the chance to go on a mock-deployment where trainees sleep in cots, go on ruck marches, work on security protocol and weapons training, and fight simulated threats.
But Pixley, who assumed command of Basic Military Training in 2021, decided that BEAST week was outdated for some of the modern Air Force's needs.
As the Department of the Air Force pushes its new philosophy of establishing "multi-capable airmen" -- meaning it wants to have troops able to take on more responsibilities so they can carry out missions with fewer people -- the new exercise develops trainees for a variety of missions in their careers, including "base operating support functions," the release said.
During the new PACER FORGE exercise, airmen "will deploy to the former BEAST site" and "will be put to the test with scenarios that are built to provide flexibility, promote information seeking, teamwork, decision making and are results focused,"
The service is still sorting out the details of what those exercises will look like.

The fags can’t pass so they have to lower the bar
During the new PACIFIER FORGE exercise, airmen “will deploy to the former BEAST site” and “will be put to the test with scenarios that are built to provide flexibility, promote information seeking, teamwork, decision making and are results focused,”
Fixed it.
Replaced with diversity & inclusion indoctrination, no doubt.
Is this an official statement using the word “airmen”?? Isntq that an exclusionary term nowadays?
They’ll just call everyone “pilots.”
The USAF has never had a Boot Camp. Even a Squid should know that.
Yes,that way, the terminology is gender neutral.
We’ve seen such language changes in some occupations such as how airline stewardesses are no longer called that, they are called flight attendants.
Waiters and waitresses and restaurants are often called servers nowadays. There too, attempts are made to avoid any reference to the sex of the person doing the work.
Some places no longer have signs and construction zones reading “Men At Work”, because such a sign would offend the sensibilities of certain people.
Are manholes still called manholes , or have they changed the name of such openings, because we don’t want to presume that only a man would do that sort of work to go in there?
Manholes are now called maintenance holes.
FWIW....
“We’ve seen such language changes in some occupations such as how airline stewardesses are no longer called that, they are called flight attendants.”
And don’t forget the stevedores.
Went through AF basic Feb 12-Mar 30 2008, week 4 was Warrior Week, BEAST and the 8 week boot camp wasn’t a thing until 2009. Don’t remember doing any ruck marches during that time.
I’d rather they had a BREAST week.
“sleep in cots, go on ruck marches, work on security protocol and weapons training, and fight simulated threats. “
Sleep in cots?
In the air force?
The horror!
Part of my beast week in Lackland AFB (1957) was spent on horseback with an old WWII steel helmet on my head. Never been so sore in my life. The M-1 carbine was the first rifle I ever fired and I learned to fall asleep lying on my back in the dirt with my face toward the sun in 95 degree weather.
They sleep on COTS!??? I bet they don’t even get omelets and they just get regular scrambled eggs!
This is about accommodating women and fat/weak Gen Z trainees. Can’t have our precious babies too discomfited.
Our modern armed services are fast becoming a joke....on all of us who depend upon them and foot the bill with our taxes.
AMEN.....9th Inf. Div, 3/5 Cav, RVN, 67-68. War is HELL.
Worse than that! They’re actually scrambled eggs made from powdered eggs!
THE HORROR!
