LOL!

My house is very disappointed that we’ll probably not get snow here for Christmas.

No thanks. I still haven’t put together that unassembled sand castle I bought this summer.

I had a snowman.

But, I had to liquidate him.

I would happily send some of ours to you! We got another five inches last night. Haven’t seen the ground for about five or six weeks now. Over a foot on the ground now. We are setting records for snow and cold.

We are north of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

I can remember as a kid in upstate NY being very disappointed if we didn’t get up to snow Christmas morning.

I hadn’t heard that one - he’s super AND he’s right!

As a kid in upstate NY (Utica, Ithaca and Syracuse ‘burbs), we usually went Trick or Treating in the 50s and early 60s in snowstorms. I’m sure you can relate. We always really appreciated the neighbors with hot cider and donuts!

I grew up in the DC area; we usually get our worst snows after Christmas, I can’t even recall a White Christmas (though I think I remember a White Thanksgiving...)

My husband grew up in Central PA and hates that we have so little snow here. He feels cheated every year.

I keep telling him this thing can still jog a little East; but he knows more about weather than I do.

I am worried, though, about all the people traveling for Christmas...

He’s a treasure; and underneath that avuncular goofiness, he’s sharp as a tack.

I MADE MYSELF A SNOWBALL, AS PERFECT AS CAN BE.
I THOUGHT I’D KEEP IT AS A PET, AND LET IT SLEEP WITH ME.

I MADE IT SOME PAJAMAS, AND A PILLOW FOR ITS HEAD.
THEN THAT NIGHT IT RAN AWAY, BUT FIRST IT WET THE BED.

One thing I noted in my time in Massachusetts was the lack of snowmen…anywhere.

I was able to recruit some neighborhood kids to help build some. These were Calvin & Hobbs style snowmen…in groups and fighting with sticks.

The kids said they never had made snowmen before.

We would save snowballs in the freezer when I was a kid. Every 10 years or so, we would get about 1 inch of snow.

You can have some of ours. You can also have some of the ‘fresh’ weather we are getting. Currently, at 11:11AM, it is -29°C (-20°F), with a wind chill of -36°C (-33°F). It’s supposed to start warming up by Friday, with Christmas hitting 0°C (32°F).

LOL, my wife ALWAYS says that: “It is so refreshing.”

Bah! I want a white sand beach, a Mai Tai, and swaying palm trees.

We would be paralyzed, here. Everything shuts down for some ice on the road and frost on the ground...
