In June, the PGA Tour suspended golfers who joined the LIV Golf series, but the latter are allowed to play in the three U.S. majors outside of the PGA Championship — the U.S. Open, the Open Championship and the Masters — because those tournaments are not governed by the PGA Tour and have their own organizational and operating bodies.
“Our focus is to honor the tradition of bringing together a preeminent field of golfers this coming April,” Fred Ridley, Chairperson of Augusta National Golf Club, said in a statement. “Therefore, as invitations are sent this week, we will invite those eligible under our current criteria to compete in the 2023 Masters Tournament.”

Why not? The Master’s wants to field the best golfers in the world. They will not bar players because there is a war going on between the LIV and PGA Tours. Additionally, five or six LIV players are past champions. If nothing else the Master’s and the Augusta membership are demons for tradition and they do not want to bar those past champions.
For that I am grateful.

Wow, the PGA breaks. Competition improves product, every time, no matter how much it is hated.
Not the PGA, the Masters isn't held to their standards, or lack thereof. The PGA is pouting still. And because of this they are turning a gentlemanly sport into childish snipes and attacks.
The PGA is dirty. Mickelson and Norman know it. That’s one of the reasons that LIV exists.
Folks see golfers out there doing their thing, just like they see other pro athletes doing theirs. They don’t understand how much control the respective organizations have over the lives of these guys.
Not that I’m feeling sorry for any of them. Believe me. Especially baseball players with the $200-300million contracts. No sympathy. NONE.
But, because of LIV the PGA has miraculously found a bunch of money to put out as prize money for the players. All while the current PGA Chairman is in some hot water for taking some liberties with some of the perks that the PGA provides.

Actually, The Master's has no formal association with the PGA. Augusta National and its members run the Master's. The PGA runs only one of the four majors: The PGA Championship. The USGA runs the US Open, and the Royal and Ancient runs the British Open.
