Zelle has had problems for some time. Seen reports that phishing attacks are rampant.

Not a user of either. Though I frequently get emails trying to fish my non-existent BOA account.

Brought to us by the same folks who keep turning off power to US and Canadian cities?

The Powers That Be are getting d@mn serious about their, ‘You’ll have NOTHING and LIKE IT!’ program!

I use a credit union. Not saying the same couldn’t happen, but they are local and not nation-wide, so that may be of some comfort. :(

Bank of America internal customer ads have been promoting Zelle for several months now.

BA has offered Zelle for several years, but with minimal promotion before.

I almost signed up a couple weeks ago because Zelle seems like a safe and convenient peer to peer payment system.

Whoops!

Dodged that bullet!

My primary personal bank (USAA) participates in the Zelle network for those who want it. Haven’t heard of any problems there.

Just a preview of the future when all money is electronic and the government (of course) has total control over it (like trudeau did to the truckers). They will take what they (expletive replaced) want.

I'm old but I seem to remember these pieces of green paper that we used for financial transactions.

Wonder if that still works?

Wow. I’ve implemented credit card billing apps that ended up doing tens of million$ in charges annually and there is no way I’d link my personal bank account to ANY of those money transfer/payment apps.

Always do it with an intermediary stop like a charge card or an account that requires verification of charges.

The price of convenience is risk. I guess app-happy Americans are going to find out the hard way.

Anyone who has BofA accounts deserves to be robbed. This bank has been exposed as a criminal enterprise for decades. In fact it was founded as a criminal enterprise.

Also saw reports that Zelle and Wells Fargo are having the same problem. I would be watching any bank associated with Zelle JIC.

Cheked my acct this AM and all is well (knock on wood).

If bank balances are going to $0, anyway, maybe we’d all be better off spending our savings.
