More than 450,000 Michigan locations remain without power Saturday following an ice storm that brought freezing temperatures to the state.

The power-outage tracking website poweroutage.us reported that more than 470,000 customers, mostly in the southeastern part of the state where the storm hit, are experiencing outages as of Saturday morning. Wayne County, which is home to Detroit, has the most reported outages with more than 170,000, while Hillsdale County has a higher level of outages than any other county, with more than 65 percent of the 21,000 customers tracked experiencing an outage.

Ice storm heh heh. Oh you won’t fool me with this fake news. Everybody knows ice storms no longer exist because of climate change

450,000 remain without power in Michigan

If they were on renewables this wouldn't be happening.

Good grief. This happens every year for one reason or another.

It happens here in Upstate NY, too.

That's what fleece blankets are for..a portable radio instead of dead silence...and a florescent lamp....and all is well. If the outage is prolonged, the Town opens up the Rec Center...cots and coffee...

Gretchen Whitmer has nothing to do with the storm, and at least in the areas outlying Detroit DTE had their trucks staged in strategic locations on Wednesday afternoon. DTE has actually been getting stuff back up again pretty quickly, I believe it was Thursday morning it was at around 600,000 without power, and they’re expecting to have most people back up by Sunday night.

When I was a kid, that number would have been no more than four or five thousand. Larger numbers have to be expected when you start moving large portions of the world’s population to Michigan. More people, less open spaces. It’s kind of a math problem for old schoolers. Have you ever wondered why tornados ALWAYS DO A LOT OF DAMAGE these days? People living where people never lived before. People living in flood plains explains a lot of the “flooding” we’re seeing these days.

MSM will put NO pressure on Whitmer over this.

They will also not report on the cause, other than ice.

Did the windmills stop rotating because they don't have anti-ice systems?

Did the solar farms stop working because of a layer of ice and/or snow in the solar panels?

Does Michigan have inadequate backup generators?

Questions like this will not be pursued.

When we lose power because of tropical storms and hurricanes where I’m at we usually just fire up the generator instead of bitchin’ about it........doodoo occurs

Yep, every breath she takes emits more CO2 which causes global warming. This should be a snow storm, not an ice storm. It’s leftist running their mouths causing this. /s

More seriously, ice storms suck. It’s one of the few whether events that leave people near helpless. You can’t drive in it. You can’t walk in it. It’s nearly impossible to clear your walks and driveway if the temperature keeps going down. Salt and ice melt stop working when it gets too cold. Wise people made a trip to the liquor store earlier in the week.

Maybe not but why do the idiots in Michigan keep voting for the wicked witch of the west? The way she botched the response to Corrovid, I was sure she was one and done, but never underestimate the power of stupid people.

“450,000 Michigan locations remain without power......”

Population is a little over 10 million ....that makes it less than 5% without power.

We’re at least told we do. The lady that shut down our economy, had the COVID patients sent to nursing homes, and that almost everyone you meet despises.

Yet she ‘won’.

There are a huge amount of pass-cards handed to liberals in Michigan. They have special privilege.

That’s interesting as that was probably another stolen election, but with all the publicity of the Dr. Oz and Uncle Fester race in PA and the Kari Lake and (NOT Calvin) & Hobbs in AZ, I don’t recall reading any threads about the MI race being stolen.
