Yes, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is running to be the Republican nominee for president. He just hasn’t made it official yet. Most political observers expect him to run and the general public is becoming interested in finding out who he is and what he offers. Case in point, the book sales for his memoir, “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Survival,” outsold first week sales of books written by Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.
Even the Washington Post had to admit that DeSantis is running, stating the obvious, and reporting he is beginning to staff up in early primary states. Readers are curious to see what DeSantis has to say. His book explains his success in governing Florida. Make America Florida could be a campaign theme.

I see Ron has bought into the deep state money laundering operation.
50% of his success is due to the fact that he has had republican legislatures. I think the guy has talent but he has never been challenged to get things done on his own with enemies fighting him every step of the way.
How many of DeSanctus’ book sales were made in very large quantities - 100 books, 500 books, 1000 books?
Run Ron Run!
We need a non-establishment candidate in the race.
Book deals to politicians are laundered bribes.
I’m not surprised that his book is selling well, even outselling others. For one thing, all the others are well-known when they wrote books. De Santis is relatively new and not well-known outside of Florida, and people are curious.
I think De Santis should remain in Florida, but I’m not really concerned about him running, because I think Trump will beat him.
“I see Ron has bought into the deep state money laundering operation.”
If he does run, that’s CLEARLY the case, since it will be political suicide* for him, but would also weaken Trump somewhat for the November election.
*if he somehow wins the Primary, huge numbers of Trump voters will sit out November. If he loses the Primary, Trump voters won’t forget what he did.
The guy is drawing in the low 20s in the pub party alone.
The MSM wants him so bad.
I hope you are wrong that Trump followers are so selfish.
Yep deep state 100%
Hot Air gets all ttheir “news” by watching the Sunday morning talk shows and reading other blogs.
They have no idea what is really going on.
You get that books don’t sell their first week. They are ordered by organizations and book stores. Most books are purchased by friendly organizations to hand out at certain events. Democrat books are often ordered by libraries. Most librarians are horrible liberals that purchase any liberal book. A total scam.
“I hope you are wrong that Trump followers are so selfish.”
Most aren’t, including myself, but far more than a few are - they’re simply unable to fully understand the Democrats and what the Democrats plan to do to them and their families.
I think it stems from them being in the USA, thinking how great this country is (or at least was), and therefore being unable to process the degree of PURE EVIL that exists in a sizeable segment of our society (despite the history of mankind, even as recently as the past 100 years).
And they figure they’ll be able to ‘tough-out’ whatever the Democrats do to them, because, to them, it can’t be ‘that bad’...but don’t worry, the ‘Trump or No One” voters will complain when they see the cattle cars - they’ll give the guys with the guns a piece of their mind!
Don’t be daft man....
99, 501 and 1003...
Launching a presidential campaign six months after winning re-election as governor also sounds like the political strategy of a retardate.
“The political calculus you describe there is a big reason why I don’t think DeSantis will run in 2024.”
The question is whether he can say NO to the people who got him to where he is. If so, then he’s one of us, at least in my book.
Trump’s book was published in 2016!
I don’t think I’m selfish, but I will be voting for Trump in 2024 even if he’s not on the ballot. That man was the greatest president of my lifetime, and running an establishment GOP hack in 2024 while Trump is still active and engaged is like replacing Derek Jeter with a Special Olympian as shortstop for the Yankees.
