Just when he thought he was out, they pull hum back in.

I don’t like Pacino’s politics or the way he has apparently lived his personal life; but he was fabulous in one of my favorite movies, ‘Scent of a Woman’.
Great actors should just shut up and act.

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
Fredo, I love you as a brother but never go against the family again.
Godfather 1 and 2 are on my list of all time favorites, along with Saving Private Ryan, Gone With The Wind, and Casablanca.

Nick,
what would be left of Al Pacino’s acting, if he just shut up?

The Godfather was pretty good, especially with Robert De Niro.
But In Godfather II, Al Pacino played the most depressingly morose character I think I’ve ever seen on camera. Didn’t like it.

The movie Coppola made between 1 and 2, The Conversation, was just a good.

Fredo and Michael did a movie just as worthy of recognition a couple of years later... 'Dog Day Afternoon'.

My wife loves GWTW. I personally think Scarlet is an unlikable harpy. And I’m tired of pretending she’s not!

Every dog has it’s day. I don’t know what’s left in Pacino, but I think he’s been an extremely talented actor.

Did you also see ‘Cruising’? Good performance in offbeat film.

“Godfather 1 and 2 are on my list of all time favorites,...”
Ditto. I had the good fortune about 4 years ago on a Saturday to have 2 kids glued to their tablets, dogs that were just fine being outside all day except for a short break to eat, and my wife busy out of the house with work. Soooooo, I proceeded to watch 4 of my favorite movies in a row:
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
Patton
Tora, Tora, Tora
Much popcorn was sacrificed that day, and it is the single best entertainment day of my life, so far.
As far as the topic, Pacino really grew into the role over time. He truly is a great actor.

Great actors should just shut up and act.In that same spirit, someone mused "I also don't want a Senator acting out 'Hamlet' while in the well."

Just watched Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in Michael Mann's "Heat" over the weekend.
Missed it when it was released 25 years ago. I think we were busy having babies.

Just watched him again in “Glengarry, Glen Ross” the way he tears down Kevin Spacey’s character is an all-time classic.
Also great in another of my favorite movies, The Devil’s Advocate.

I thought Cruz was pretty good at ‘Green Eggs and Ham’.
But I wouldn’t want to see any of them doing Shakespeare, either.
