Some "playthings" from the 20th century or (even as recent last year!) have caused serious harm to unsuspecting kids. Never thought Barbie and her dog Tanner would make this list.

Remember clackers, they were somewhat annoying. Every boy back in the day had a cap gun and slingshot.

Surprised a BB gun didn't make the list.

We called them click-clacks. And yeah, they were sorta dangerous, but you learned quickly what NOT to do,

There was a toy that had to be recalled: Riviton I believe.
It included rubber rivets, but unfortunately at least two small children choked to death on the rivets and the toy was recalled by the maker of the toy, Parker Brothers.

Had the Thing Maker and Wood Burning kit.

Also had the Ronco Bottle Cutting Kit to make drinking glasses.

I got to be part of a TV story about those. Our neighbor worked for a local TV station and filmed a bunch of us clacking away. No one got hurt.

I saw the article started with lawn darts. I played with them for a long time with and without folks. Never hurt anyone.
