Some "playthings" from the 20th century or (even as recent last year!) have caused serious harm to unsuspecting kids. Lawn darts weren’t a problem if used under supervision. But…many parents are lazy $$$$$$$ morons.

When I was a kid I bit a mercury filled glass thermometer in half at the doctors office.

Our next door neighbor sold fireworks and gave us a box of assorted firecracers, including botton rockets, I put one on the edge of the box and lit it. It fell into the box and sparks went everywhere. Several cheery bombs went off; the garage with a can of gasoline was five feet away.
God was looking out for me that day (He always has). I could have blown up half the neighborhood.

I’m kind of surprised my favorite childhood toy, Dry Cleaner Bag didn’t make the list.
I played with those for years when I was little, and sometimes my parents’ friends acted shocked, but man, they were fun!
That’s the first thing that occurred to me!!
Amazingly, most of us here had at least one of these toys and survived.
Back when SNL was actually funny!
