I had a close relative die of this, decades ago, in the hospital.
Medical science now officially says says doctors and insurance companies can freely consider poop transplants to help people with C. diff. Before today, doctors who considered this were heretical and should have been virtually stoned.

Back to leeches and maggots, it seems.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

No thanks. I’d take my chances with the recurring infections.

Leeches and maggots both have their places in medicine.

What I find interesting is that before today, doctors who considered or did this were looked at as crazy, but as of today, they are considered crazy if they don’t do it.
It just takes one second of time to flip what’s crazy, for years, to the exact opposite.

Effect of fecal microbiota transplantation in children with autism spectrum disorder: A systematic review

Apparently fecal transplant has some effectiveness in autism too.
Wonder if what we are eating or drinking these days is part of the problem?
To: ConservativeMind
This actually has a fairly good outcome despite it smelling like poop.

I would say what we ingest is key to 80+% of everything to our health, but it’s very hard to know everything we need, all the time.

I’ve had many c-diff infections after IV antibiotics in hospital due to diverticulitis. Painful. Horrible. You try to get close relatives to donate. I will try it if I can find a donor. That seems unlikely. Vancomycin is the best choice now.

Are the transplants per rectum or per os?

I just tried it - so far nothing is happening.

Not really, but kinda similar.
They’ve also discovered the healthy bowel generates chemicals necessary to a healthy and well functioning brain which means good mental health.
Schizophrenia is one of those conditions that a turd transplant can help.
