Hollywood legend Woody Harrelson said that fellow actor Matthew McConaughey is his biological half-brother.
Harrelson made the claim during an interview with Esquire to promote his new HBO show, “White House Plumbers.”
The statement is a follow-up to comments previously made by McConaughey last month.
In a new interview with Esquire, Harrelson claims that when McConaughey was born in 1969, McConaughey’s dad told his mom, “That ain’t my son” and refused to go to the hospital with her.
Harrelson said that he “knew that detail” years before Mary Kathleen McCabe insinuated she may have had an intimate relationship with Harrelson’s father.
Last month, McConaughey told Kelly Ripa on her SiriusXM “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast that on a trip to Greece a few years ago, his mom told Harrelson she “knew” his dad.
“Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after ‘knew’,” McConaughey explained.
“It was a loaded K-N-E-W.
“We went on to unpack what this ‘knew’ meant and did some math and found out that [Harrelson’s] dad was on furlough at the same time that my mom and dad were in their second divorce.
“Then there’s possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, or a meeting, or a ‘knew’ moment.”
Harrelson has said he wants to take a DNA test to find out if the two are actually half-brothers.
However, McConaughey has been reluctant about potentially finding out that the man he always believed was his father might not be his biological dad.
Harrelson told Stephen Colbert last month, “We want to go and test, but for him, it’s a much more big deal.
“I mean he feels like he is losing a father.
“But I’m like, no, you’re gaining a different father and a brother.”
While questioning each other during this week’s Esquire interview, Harrelson told his “White House Plumbers” co-star Justin Theroux that he and McConaughey haven’t “done the testing” to find out if they actually are brothers, “but I can say that there’s a lot of almost insane coincidences.
“His mom had a relationship with my dad right around the time he was conceived.
“That seems like a big coincidence.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Harrelson also took aim at the Left.
As Slay News reported earlier, the Hollywood star blasted those who push the “liberal agenda” as “f**king idiots.”

I had understood Harrelson to be a leftist of staggering credentials.
Additionally I have heard all sorts of gossip about his Dad over the years even down to being involved in the JFK assassination and wild stuff like that.

okay. I suppose that this is something that somebody really cares about. I do not.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they were half brothers or cousins, if not siblings.
Actors know and can do anything and everything.

A “legend” for what?
I don’t question the possibility that this is true. I question the reason for making so public an assertion about it. What cruelty would compell Harroldson to do this to his own brother? He has nothing to gain and risks loss of love from the person to whom he should feel the closest of kinship in life. Why does he feel the need to do this treacherous to his brother?
