A 12-year-old boy has been charged with murder for allegedly gunning down a Sonic restaurant worker in Texas with an assault rifle.
The deadly confrontation at the Sonic Drive-In in Keene began after 32-year-old employee Mathew Davis spotted a 20-year-old man urinating in the parking lot Saturday night, NBC-DFW reported, citing police.
Davis approached the man relieving himself, identified as Angel Gomez, and a physical fight ensued, the report said.
During the scuffle, the 12-year-old boy who was sitting inside Gomez’s car allegedly fired six rounds from an assault rifle, striking Davis.

It would have been helpful for the New York Post to mention where Keene TX is located. It’s in Johnson county, south of the DFW Metroplex, just northeast of Cleburne. I travel to Cleburne occasionally and had never heard of it.
Poor guy. He was actually being a productive member of society when he was murdered. If he survived, he’d probably be charged with assault for attempting to stop a crime. Yes, urinating in a parking lot is a crime.

Once the guy started pissing it was too late. The man who was shot should have turned his head 60 degrees and continued doing whatever it was he was doing before he saw the guy pissing. When you have to go you have to go. Sometimes it’s inconvenient. I know you have to help apply social pressure to maintain behavioral norms but starting a fight over anything is the wrong way to go.
Such SICKNESS going on in America - and it began when they started removing the influence of God from our leadership and our schools! imho

This means that we, as individuals, have to be even MORE aware of our surroundings and ramp up our situational awareness even more. Even minors can be dangerous. This sounds a little paranoid, I know, but it doesn’t hurt to be even a little more vigilant.
Sonic’s have public restrooms. All you need to do is ask for the key.
And Keene is the typical small Texas town.
Much of the town was build as a refuge for Seventh Day Adventists in the late 1800s, and is strongly tilted that way for now.
Is not a prosperous town but the local SDA college pays decent wages.
They do have a speed trap reputation but that is not as big an issue any more.
Seriously, just ask for the key.
