Another point of fact...the resolution of alcohol/mercury thermometers is much less than that of modern temperature instruments. Therefore in comparing historic data to modern data, you cannot read temps any closer than the resolution of the historic instruments...the data sets are incompatible.

96% are in the wrong place, and that’s without the intentional fraud by the climate change mob which also takes place.

I have 2 indoor thermometers that are not accurate that sit right next to each other. Both temp and humidity. I also have one outdoor by my front door under the roof that gives a different temp then one downstairs under the balcony about 6ft up from a concrete pad. Then there is the car temp gauge that must be off as it is surrounded by metal in the hot sun.
Go to Amazon and search for ‘thermometers’ and one of the questions you will see is how accurate they are.
Remember the gov’t depts are the same ones that let bridges fall apart. I do not think they care that thermometers are inaccurate.

The news gets worse...
At least 90% of the 193 countries on planet Earth have temperature records that are LESS accurate than the USA.
Temperature records from most countries in Latin America and Africa are completely useless.

“leading to the recording of artificially higher temperatures.”
Which they then alter the datasets after the fact to “correct “ the temp UPWARDS.

"The research shows that 96% of these stations are corrupted by localized effects of urbanization"
I recall one or more occasions driving on a errand with a coworker. We might have been discussing the rather cold weather. We would pass a Credit Union with a temperature display in its outdoor business sign.
I'd say,
"According to the sign it's 45 degrees outside."
He would reply,
"That's not the outside temperature, that's the temperature of the sign."

I think that is why the global warming industry morphed into the climate change industry. Once those climate numbers were disproven a decade ago, those who depend on the narrative for relevance changed the narrative to “climate change” and assigned a definition to it that is essentially meaningless and no one can challenge.

This isn’t new. I remember a similar story about the weather station setups from 20 years ago. RUSH has had numerous segments referencing this over the years.
