People have been disappearing inside US National Parks at an alarming rate, with at least 10 vanishing never to be seen again since 2016, data examined by The Post shows.
One was a hiker whose last message was to his son, telling him he was on his way to Yosemite National Park.
Another got separated from his group during a nine-day excursion through the stifling Grand Canyon heat.
A young river tour guide, with his whole life ahead of him, also vanished during a group trip.
“No trace of man missing on Colorado River in Grand Canyon,” reads a local news headline from the time.

A lot of people are missing ever since the Biden occupation destroyed our border
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
First I’ve seen “the Biden occupation” reference, but it’s certainly an accurate description.
In the ‘70s my friend went hiking alone in a park in Hawaii. I don’t know if it was a national park.
In any case, nobody ever saw him again, but his plane ticket back to Alaska had been cashed in. We figured he may have stumbled on to a hidden crop of Maui Wowee which led to his demise. Growers have no sense of humor about that.
Could be.
Could be killed.
Could be trying to disappear and start over.
Who knows?
I’ve been calling it that ever since the domestic enemies took over the White house Jan.20th 2021 by a fixed election and I was proven right by calling them domestic enemies the first week when they destroyed our energy independence and our border and have done absolutely nothing else but destroy everything about our country since. Our government is under enemy occupation as far as I’m concerned. Look what they are doing to the true President Donald Trump right now just like a 3rd world banana republic
Up’n here mountains weuns always going there with least 3 people
4 guns (shotguns, rifles)2 dogs, FRs, pans and big spoons. Usn’s aint that stupid like them dumb city slickers going alone where there is wolves. Is you stupid or what,,,?
When I went into the near back-country of Yosemite in the 70s, bears were abundant and insisted on sharing your food at night.
It’s good to be a survivor of that sort of thing.
Always interesting at the time.
I don’t need escorts to do the things I enjoy, the solitude is the best part about backpacking.
I’ve been calling it that ever since the domestic enemies took over the White house Jan.20th 2021 . . .

Your post is well and truly said, and of course I agree with every word of it. Thanks for posting it.
I like listening to him. He is every entertaining. Some stories are pretty mysterious and disturbing. Like people disappearing when in a large group of hikers. No sounds no screams, the person will just be there one moment and gone the next.
I think most of them aren't buried. They just got lost and succumbed to the elements and then critters ate them and scattered their bones.
This guy runs a pretty good missing persons series on YouTube with a lot of focus on wilderness cases. Wander off the trail and it doesn't take long before you can be seriously lost.
He sure has, in both his series of Missing 411 books and on his Youtube channel, Canam Missing Project.
Also either hypothermia or hyperthermia.
They’re probably being eaten by South American illegals
Bingo! ;)
Agreed. FIts your screen name as well
Having worked for NP back in the day... No one searches more than 50 ft from a trail.
“at an alarming rate, with at least 10 vanishing never to be seen again since 2016”
I wouldn’t say that is an alarming rate. One or two a year. Given the huge wilderness areas and large number of visitors, I would have thought there would be more.
