One look at that crazy-haired “judge” Engmoron, with his crazed eyes, and you can see the absurdity of this whole kangaroo court trial. Guy looks like he’s right out of Central Casting for a mad scientist or something.
If the bank loaned him the money then that’s what the fair market value of the property is. It’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay or use as collateral for a loan with the bank accepting that collateral. Plus, in the instance that a property was pwned by a celebrity, like the 45th President of the US, it is worth more than an average property.
Banks and insurance companies do their own property appraisals. The Trump Organization can say what they want, but banks and insurance companies will do due diligence. This entire suit is hideous and the only people that don’t understand than never sought a mortgage or are blinded by TDS.
Anyone with half a brain knows that if Trump were not running none of this would be happening.
Every time he goes up in the polls they file another made up charge. Talk about indicting a ham sandwich, it is about that meaningful. They can claim anything.
There is no longer any such thing as uniform and equal justice. I reject the whole concept now. I will sit for jury duty to play along out of a personal sense of duty and hope to contribute to justice if called, but I do not respect the system. It is not much more than a charade. There may be small spots of something that once was respectable but not enough to matter. Even in our small conservative area plea bargains and time served are common as is dropping charges in exchange for guilty pleas on smaller ones. Of course there are also the favored few around here who should have been hung a long time ago who have never been charged.
Banks operate on the “trust but verify” system. They back up their applicant’s claims with appraisals.

Even for home equity loans, you’re asked what you think your properties worth, even though the lender will do their own appraisal.
It’s just a foot-in-the-door statement, and is only used to route your app to the right group (depending on loan size).
I.e., a comparable application by voice phone call would be “if you’re loan is under 425k, press one...”

I had a house appraised for 800k in the process of getting a divorce. The appraisal was part of a court approved settlement. Less than 2 years later, the same house was appraised for property tax purposes by a state appointed appraiser for 1.6 million. I’m fighting them of course.
