Wasabi is, I think, is a stronger hot taste than horseradish.
It’s nice to know it can improve memory a bit.

More recently, wasabi been rumored to help with cognitive abilities because of its supposed calming effect on the brain.Does the brain get quiet because it senses a nuclear explosion nearby in the mouth and sinuses?

The Truth About WasabiHave you ever eaten wasabi?
If you answered “yes” to that question, you are likely mistaken. Most sushi eaters—even in Japan—are actually being served a mixture of ground horseradish and green food coloring, splashed with a hint of Chinese mustard. Worldwide, experts believe that this imposter combination masquerades as wasabi about 99 percent of the time.

Love it. True, what we get here is not the real thing. After numerous buys on the innertubes I have found only one that even lists wasabi as the first ingredient. The label is mostly in Japanese, but what’s in English says Samkwang Orishi Wasabi. It does seem a bit stronger than the others. Still looking.

Plus when I eat it I’m usually eating other good food

They probably remember the pain so they can avoid that stuff the next time.

I thought I knew the effects of Wasabi until I tried a fresh version. The effect was atomic. I could only take a little bit a time and each time it made my eyes water.

Nearly all the “wasabi” sold in the US is horseradish dyed green. The real stuff is too expensive.
