A concealed carry holder in Los Angeles who was forced to defend himself and his family in a terrifying shootout at his front door is demanding LA leaders prosecute criminals terrorizing law-abiding residents.
"Every single person that I know has gotten stuck up," LA entrepreneur Vince Ricci told Fox News Digital this week. "It’s not normal."
Ricci said he was returning to his gated Los Angeles home Saturday evening after hitting the gym when two armed men jumped his fence and tried to force their way into his home.
"Out of nowhere, boom, I had a gun to my back. And there was another guy running up at the same time and I couldn't really make out what he was saying," Ricci said recounting the terrifying incident.
The attempted home invasion unfolded just before 7:30 pm, when Ricci’s wife, her friend and the family’s nanny were inside the home cooking dinner and putting Ricci’s nearly 5-month-old daughter to bed.
Security footage captured the entire frightening scene and has since racked up thousands of views on social media.
The Los Angeles entrepreneur said he was leisurely walking to his front door while listening to an audiobook that had captivated his attention when he noticed the men approaching him.
The video shows Ricci holding a cup of hot tea while digging out his keys from his pocket before a man wearing a hoodie and aiming a gun ran up to the homeowner. Ricci, who noted his tea was too hot to drink at the time, is seen walloping the man in the face with the beverage before pulling out his own firearm.
"It was burning my hand and I couldn't wait to go into the house and put honey in the tea so I could drink it," the homeowner said.

Good and correct man. The government officials who refuse to do what’s right in regard to crime should be eventually tried for treason and hanged. Not going to retract that even if it costs me my life. I have had all I can take. Where’s the backbone of this nation?

Not uncommon. Gunfights are dynamic. It is also possible he hit one or both of his assailants and it wasn't noticed. Amazing what adrenaline can do.
G-d bless Mr. Ricci for doing the right thing at the right time, as we would all wish to do in the same situation.

Also, a typical pistol 4 inch barrel is almost impossible to accurately aim when you are waving it around. It’s not like the gun range.
I get a few gun related magazines, USCCA being the best. I always turn to the page that describes self defense shootings first. This story has all the elements of a justified use of a fire arm. He was on DEFCON 2 and prepared to defend himself and family. I think everyone needs to be on DEFCON 2 these days.
He said the police did sloppy work. They didn’t even pick up the shell casings. He also said only a few cops care.

Accuracy with a handgun is not easy, especially at a moving target, unless you're very good or in a Hollyweird movie.
Mere fractions of an inch off at the barrel can equal an exponential distance at range.

Back when I took a CCW class for a permit 2 people couldn't hit a man size, stationary target at 21 feet. The proficiency range mandated for the course.

You’re absolutely right. On the other hand, a guy in America OUGHT TO be able to relax in his own front yard inside OR outside a gated community. His lack of situational awareness is a second-order problem. The FIRST order problem is our societal breakdown.
Makes an argument for the homeowner to carry an assault rifle, doesn't it? With a speed loader, and maybe a grenade launcher..
The first rule in self defense, if you can’t retreat to a safe distance, close the distance.
The absolute worst place to be in a knife fight or fist fight is at arms length. The worst place to be in a gun fight is 3 yards.

Still like the idea of observation towers every mile on the border with a Marine sniper in each tower. The ROE are: shoot to wound. Upon capture, you tattoo a 4” tall “I” (Illegal) on their forehead and send them back. Any sniper who sees an “I” on the target’s forehead has the ROE change to just “shoot”. A week or two of this and methinks the Southern border would be secure.
