Taylor Swift is already making a major mark in Brazil. One day before the 33-year-old singer is set to start her three-night stint at Rio De Janeiro's Estádio Nilton Santos as part of her Eras Tour, her famous "Junior Jewels" T-shirt was projected onto the Christ the Redeemer statue.
The T-shirt became a popular recreation for fans after Swift wore it in her music video for "You Belong With Me," which appeared on her album, Fearless. The album was released in 2008, and Swift put out her version of it in 2021.
While the shirt reads "Junior Jewels" in the music video, it reads "Welcome to Brasil" in the projection. The display came after a request from Rio's mayor, Eduardo Paes.
Even that wasn't enough to get the shirt projected, though. Father Omar, the rector of the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary who oversees the projection at the statue, said he would project the image of the T-shirt if Swifties church collected 20,000 units of panettone and water.

I heard there’s this big rock in the Middle East that she could project her promotional stuff onto. That would probably get lots of Muslims to come to her concert.
Contemporary female pop artists don’t sell music, they sell burlesque shows.
It’s telling that so much of the populace goes ape over a common burlesque show. The only thing of substance is the marketing of the corporation pushing an utterly unremarkable product to people who have less use in the world than the gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe.

In 1966 the Rutles faced the biggest threat to their careers. Nasty in a widely quoted interview had apparently claimed that the Rutles were bigger than God, and was reported to have gone on to say that God had never had a hit record.
The story spread like wildfire in America. Many fans burnt their albums, many more burnt their fingers attempting to burn their albums. Album sales skyrocketed, People were buying them just to burn them.
But in fact it was all a ghastly mistake. Nasty, talking to a slightly deaf journalist, had claimed only that the Rutles were bigger than Rod. Rod Stewart would not be big for another eight years, and certainly at this stage hadn’t had a hit.
At a press conference, Nasty apologised to God, Rod and the Press, and the tour went ahead as planned. It would be the Rutles’ last.
Not a good way to get ahead.
That is so wrong. We shouldn’t be surprised she pushes her hordes of young women to vote for Traitor Joe.
How long until Swifty turns into Miley Cyrus/Madonna? It’s inevitable imo.
Eventually her fanbase will shrivel down to aging queens.

The shrieking women, all in their 60s and 70s, was something to behold.
During the concert, I went to the concessions to get a stiff drink. There were circles of other men standing around, all of them dragged there by their wives as well. We didn't even have to say a word to each other. We all were in the same boat and so shared our misery in mostly shocked silence.

She hasn’t done any of this crazy stuff. This idiocy all comes from various mayors. Once one idiot decided their town was Swift for a day they all are looking for ways to ride the train. All politicians are whores. Taylor Swift is very popular, they want to be popular, so they try to get themselves associated with her in some way.
When has rock and roll ever not been burlesque? I mean it was all built from vaudeville, which included burlesque. All Jimi Hendrix’s guitar moves were stolen from sax players. Tina Turner didn’t get world famous legs by dressing modestly. And of course it’s not rock and roll either. Plenty of performers show plenty of skin. Even more formal classical stuff. Sure they pretend it’s all fancy with the evening gowns and the sparkles, but but it’s got a plunging neckline and high slit up the leg.
Sex sells. Nobody puts on a tour for fun.
