If Global Warmists Are Going to Panic about Something...
American Thinker ^ | 10 Dec, 2023 | Jeffrey Folks

It’s cold, but climate czar John Kerry doesn’t give a fart. Or maybe he does, since he seems to have interrupted his talk on carbon releases with an audible emission of his own. The audience pretended not to hear, but climate alarmists are used to pretense. They pretend the world will end in 2031 from warming and that temperatures are rising so fast that human beings will be fried.

There’s no evidence that either of those two things is happening. But there’s lots of evidence that temperatures are getting colder. As John Casey explains in his book Dark Winter: How the Sun Is Causing a 30-Year Cold Spell, there’s evidence that temps will get a lot colder. The sun “is going into a deep hibernation for the next thirty years,” says Casey, but that evidence is not reported in the mainstream media, which is still manufacturing stories to support the global warming thesis: the idea not just that temperatures are getting somewhat warmer from their extreme lows of the Little Ice Age that ended around 1850, but that that warming is a catastrophe instead of a blessing.

It was a cold Thanksgiving where I live in the southeastern U.S. A near record cold, in fact, just as it was in many places in the eastern U.S., but you wouldn’t know that from watching the news. Media are quick to report record highs but hesitant to report record lows. Even A.I. may have been programmed to support the global warming thesis. When I asked A.I. for “U.S. record lows for November 23, 2023,” I was told: “I could not find any information about record lows for November 23, 2023.” When I checked on record highs for the same date, I was told that “over 175 million Americans experienced above-averaged temperatures”

I am sure that if it gets colder it will be blamed on coal, oil and natural gas.....somehow.

All kinds of satillites use solar power. A decrease of light by the sun will show as in a loss of power. I wonder if anybody has been collecting this data? Satillites are ideal for this kind of data collection this because weather for them is non existent.

A 10% reduction in solar power is ok for a satellite.

A 2% reduction in sunlight hitting the Earth would have dramatic consequences.

Total Solar Irradiadiance (TSI) has been measured for about the last 40 years by NOAA. That will detect if there are changes.

Swiftboat Rear Admiral John F’ing Kerry doesn’t know the real issues about climate change since he has never mentioned the massive volanoes that erupted in Spring of 2022. These volcanoes pumped an estimated 100 billion tons of vapor and gases into the atmosphere to an altitude of over 126,000 feet.
The worst eruptions in over 1200 years that literally shook the entire World. He wants control and the authority of being a czar that lines his pockets with big bucks.

Burning coal, oil and NG cause carbon dioxide, which melts the glaciers, and the cold water cools the ocean and the earth. Simple.

You are correct. The article cites a study from Yale that the upper atmosphere is getting colder. I followed the link. Put down your coffee before reading this:

“A new study reaffirming that global climate change is human-made also found the upper atmosphere is cooling dramatically because of rising CO2 levels.”

They try to make this make sense. I don’t think they can, but it would take time to pore over the article and find their mistakes.

I’d like to make a few observations about experts, scientists, and science. Do you remember experts (scientists?) at the American Tobacco Institute insisting that cigarettes did no harm? At a later date, experts told us that secondhand smoke was more dangerous than smocking. Presumably thirdhand smoke was even more dangerous. If you were several yards away from the smoker and got tenthhand smoke, you would keel over and die on the spot.

My point is that there will always be some expert, some scientist, some self-appointed spokesperson for science who will tell any story, provided they are paid to do so.

It would be false to claim that all scientists are prostitutes. However, it is always possible to find some scientists who are prostitutes. These people may then be chosen as the face of science.

Remember folks. On hot summer days, the global warmers always claim it as ‘proof’ of global warming.

So, when it’s extremely cold this winter DO NOT forget to rub it in their faces about how cold it is and how global warming must be a myth!!!

Debunk one crisis, there's always another one already on hand.

Crises change, but their solution is always more power in the hands of the existing ruling class, less freedom, and less prosperity.

And we had a warmer than average fall and a pleasant Thanksgiving.

That’s how it happens. Warmer some places and colder others.

They cannot predict what the sun, or the weather, is *going to do* for the next 30 years.

They can’t get even the next day’s forecast right sometimes.

https://www.space.com/antarctic-ozone-hole-early-hunga-tonga

“the ozone hole above Antarctica has opened up unusually early this year. Scientists think the cataclysmic Hunga Tonga volcanic eruption that sent shockwaves around the world in January 2022 may be to blame.

The development is not unexpected. Ozone experts predicted earlier this year that the eruption, which injected 50 million tons (45 million metric tons) of water vapor into Earth’s atmosphere, is likely to have an impact on Earth’s protective ozone layer in the years following the eruption.

Concentrations of water vapor in the stratosphere, the second lowest layer of Earth’s atmosphere where the ozone layer resides, increased by 10% due to the explosion of the undersea volcano. That, according to Paul Newman, the chief scientist for atmospheric science at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, resulted in “significant cooling” in the stratosphere, which is bad news for ozone levels. “

For the ozone hole, blame the volcano; for the hot summer of 2023, what volcano?

If we look at the past few thousand years we have historical precedent of warm periods and cold periods with brief hiccups. For example, in the centuries long Little Ice Age going from roughly AD 1300 to AD 1820 (depending on who you ask), there was about a 50 year period where it warmed from about 1570 to 1620 (again the exact years are debatable). I wouldn't be surprised if our Modern Warm Period is experiencing a few decades of cooling -- not enough for me to worry about the Modern Warm Period being over and us entering a new centuries long cooling period.

That's me ignoring potential causes for cooling and warming (i.e. sunspots, Milankovitch cycles) and just observing trends.

Global Warmists fall into two categories: (1) honest but stupid and (2) dishonest. Only the ones in category 1 are in panic.

“the hot summer of 2023”

July was stinking hot in 2022 where I live. It wasn’t so bad in 2023.

It’s why el Rushbo said they switched to climate change. Under that heading any change or unusual temperature or weather can be blamed on CC. They can never be wrong.
