A transgender 10-year-old girl in Ohio has described her concern at her state's bid to block access to gender-affirming care for minors.
On Friday, Ohio's governor, Mike DeWine, a Republican, will announce his decision on whether to ban the treatments.
DeWine had 10 days to make a decision on the bill, House Bill 68, that was approved by the Ohio House and Senate earlier this month.
Astrid Burkle told ABC News, in an interview with her family, that she was angry at the 'mean' people who sought to prevent the treatments.
Her mother, Alicia Burkle, said that while her daughter was currently too young to have surgery, she was receiving extensive therapy and mental health care, and was concerned that Ohio could ban more significant treatment such as puberty blockers before her daughter was old enough to receive it.
'It's been really frustrating at times,' said Astrid. 'Because there's just so many people out there who are just really mean.' Aaron Burkle, her father, said their local community has been supportive, but her sister Abs said they may leave Ohio if trans treatment for minors is blocked.
'We want to be able to support our communities and the state of Ohio, but like, people are going to leave,' said Abs Burkle.
'People are going to be hurt. They're not going to want to come back to Ohio.'
Alicia Burkle agreed with her daughter, and said they would move if they had to.
'Just because you've said that you're not going to allow us to get the care here in Ohio doesn't mean we're suddenly going to stop getting the care for our kids,' said Alicia Burkle.

Young boy, the “really mean” people are the only ones protecting you at this point. Not even your parents are protecting you. They are fomenting/ enabling your confusion and allowing you to be abused by insane monsters.

I see two people who will never be grandparents by means of their son. While others are sharing pics of their grandbabies they will only have pics of their freak boy who is dressed up as a girl. That is if he’s still alive then. Even if he detransistions he will still be sterile.
Parents who love being woke more than they love their child.
And then later, when older, she will sue these people for doing what she and her mom wanted, when she was younger.
You can’t blame/sue people for either doing what you want or not doing what you want on the same issue. Its an impossible situation to put someone in.
Besides no one has any right to this kind of care. No one technically has any right to medical care. Much less elective medical procedures.

* Removal of the testicles. This is called orchiectomy.
* Vaginoplasty. This is a procedure that may include:
Removal of the penis, called penectomy.
Removal of the testicles.
Creation of a vagina, called vaginoplasty.
Creation of a clitoris, called clitoroplasty.
Creation of labia, called labioplasty.
* Breast surgery. Surgery to increase breast size is called top surgery or breast augmentation. It can be done through implants, the placement of tissue expanders under breast tissue, or the transplantation of fat from other parts of the body into the breast.
* Plastic surgery on the face. This is called facial feminization surgery. It involves plastic surgery techniques in which the jaw, chin, cheeks, forehead, nose, and areas surrounding the eyes, ears or lips are changed to create a more feminine appearance. Calling Dr. Frankenstein!
* Expensive Body-contouring. These procedures may include:
Tummy tuck, called abdominoplasty.
Buttock lift, called gluteal augmentation.
Liposuction, a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body.
* Voice feminizing therapy and surgery. These are techniques used to raise voice pitch. This is a sore throat on steroids.
* Tracheal shave. This surgery reduces the thyroid cartilage, also called the Adam’s apple. Imagine trying to swallow after this was done.
* Scalp hair transplant. This procedure removes hair follicles from the back and side of the head and transplants them to balding areas. Try pulling one of your hairs out by their root.
* Hair removal. A laser can be used to remove unwanted hair. Another option is electrolysis, a procedure that involves inserting a tiny needle into each hair follicle. The needle emits a pulse of electric current that damages and eventually destroys the follicle. Ouch!
All will cost a ton of money. Forget about a college education.
Yes,just think how the grand euphemism of “gender-affirming care” has streamlined and (sorry for the irony) “neutered” the finality of what’s really going on.
It’s just awful. How can the fathers go along with it. I get the women falling for it but not the men.

The adults in his life that have failed him? They deserve millstones hung around their necks, followed by tossing overboard into deep water. ALL of them need hung (family, teachers, influencers, “clergy”, etc.)
“Gender-sffirming care” is actually Gender-affirming mutilation.
