I joined Nextdoor to see if there were any good deals I could find, also to stay informed about local issues.
Instead of a normal community, I found a bunch of wrinkled psychotic Karens. I made a joke or two and immediately was set upon by some sociopath chick who told me (publicly and privately in Nextdoor email) that I needed mental health help, and that I was a very evil, very bad person. She called me every name in the book, and ranted at me for about two pages of insane text.
I reported this crazy lady using the Report feature, and asked her politely never to contact me again.
The next time I tried to log on, I found I was banned.
Nexrtdoor.com is a ghetto version of the old Twitter, with banning policies that have absolutely no consistency or reason, and who is populated by shrill psychotic old ladies looking for a reason -- any reason -- to jump you.
I tried to join a neighborhood group where I had a rental house. I immediately got a message from a neighborhood Karen rhetorically asking, “You don’t live here, do you?” I decided that me not joining would be better for everybody.
Cultivate your old neighbors! Take them to their doctor appointments. Fix their electronics. Shovel around their cars or their entrances. Let them know your cameras capture whatever’s going on for at least three close properties besides your own. Cut their lawn. Tell them there’s a package on their doorstep.
I do this kind of stuff all the time. They LOVE a good neighbor.
I appreciate being informed on sites to avoid. Thanks Laz, cause being intolerant is a way of life for me.
How odd that a person would let his/her cat out of the apartment. I can see a get getting out accidentally, but not usually. Some people are irresponsible.
I am intolerant of tolerant people.
Last I looked stupid is the opposite of smart.
As you stated, those from upper castes have higher IQs.
If true, it's obvious we don't have IQs running in US families.
Therefore, it's can't be family or genetic.
It's simply environmental, and down to education and drive.

I did get multiple invites to sign up for NextDoor. Some neighbor apparently told NextDoor to invite me to sign up, when first getting into the neighborhood.
I didn’t like the idea of such a “clan” approach. It felt like I would be joining a “family” like that of “Rosemary’s Baby.”

Nextdoor is the most reliably hilarious site on the intarwebz, in my experience.
But you can’t come right out and poke the bear, as the cat lady Karen “moderators” will be quick with the ban hammer.
It never ceases to be a source of mirth and liberal stupidity!
I go on Nextdoor every time they issue a political screed (usually against a proposed new apartment complex, industrial business, retail business, etc) and call them all NIMBY idiots living in an echo chamber that want to destroy our community by preventing any growth, or anything nice or new from coming to our neighborhood. I then usually talk about how if we dont create new jobs, there will be nobody to buy their house when they want to sell.
Yah, just like Slashdot. They lie about supporting free speech, but let their own members censor you if you disagree with a clique’s position.
I would not mind having someone block me — keep from seeing my posts. Find, that is like walking away from someone in the common square. But, muzzling someone. Nope.
I’ve received several invitations to re-join the local Nextdoor. Each time I go in and take a peek at what they have to say about WuhanFlu, masks, etc. Their official position is that you are not allowed to criticize CDC/WHO policy. So, I repeat my complaint about their channeling Stalin and tell them to bugger off.
In India, castes prevent smart people from getting educational opportunities to work in the US.
If your family was so smart, why are members supporting Biden or Fauci? According to you, it's because everyone in your family has a low IQ.
If you two start an argument on this thread, I’m banning you from Nextdoor.
The latest episode of the cat getting out, I doubt will be repeated for the near future...
