Hillary Clinton was pictured in Manhattan on Monday clutching a memoir about a family's 'shame and secrecy'.
The former Secretary of State was back in New York City for the first time since her husband's name was once again dragged through the mud over his friendship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Bill Clinton, now 77, was friends with the billionaire financier. Last week, as a tranche of court documents from a 2015 case against Epstein's right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell were unsealed and Bill's name featured prominently.
In one particularly damaging section, a victim of Epstein claimed that he told her Clinton 'likes them young', referring to girls.
None of the documents contained any claims of sexual activity between Clinton and Epstein's victims, but their release has been deeply uncomfortable for Clinton and other powerful men who associated with Epstein - among them Prince Andrew, magician David Copperfield, and Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton was mentioned in passing in one document - a request for communications from her. She was not known to socialize with Epstein.
Her current reading material, held in clear view of the photographers, appeared to acknowledge the embarrassment her family has felt from their association with Epstein. Maxwell was invited to the wedding of their daughter, Chelsea, in July 2010.
The book, SHANDA: A Memoir of Shame and Secrecy, was published in 2022.
Written by Letty Cottin Pogrebin, who in the 1970s co-founded the feminist magazine Ms. with Gloria Steinem, the book details Pogrebin's family - devout Jewish immigrants.
