Foreign developers - including Chinese, Russian, Iranian and Venezuelans - now own at least 40M acres of US land near military bases from coast-to-coast: Government admits it does NOT know full extent of land grab

At least 40 million acres of US farmland, pastures and forests are owned by foreign investors, which officials warn ‘may have consequences for national security.

A new watchdog report found that foreign ownership of US land - including buyers from adversarial nations like China, Russia and Iran - has increased by 40 percent since 2016, with some plots near sensitive military facilities.

As well as espionage concerns, there is growing alarm about the integrity of America's food supply chains.

But the estimates could be the tip of the iceberg because the Government Accountability Office (GAO), which did the report, told DailyMail.com that US officials are not 'reliably' tracking data on land owners.

The new Congressional analysis has caused fury among Democrats and Republicans, who demanded the Biden Administration clamp down on purchases ‘from adversaries' to shore up America's defenses.

Democratic Senator Jon Tester said: ‘While we learn more about the specifics around this unfolding situation, it highlights the need for Congress to do more to protect American agricultural security and prevent our foreign adversaries from controlling our country’s food supply while also gaining access to land near sensitive military sites.’

Republican Representative Dan Newhouse also shared his outrage after GAO released its findings.

'This report confirms one of our worst fears: that not only is the e United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) unable to answer the question of who owns what land and where, but that there is no plan by the department to internally reverse this dangerous flaw that affects our supply chain and economy,' Newhouse said.

'Food security is national security, and we cannot allow foreign adversaries to influence our food supply while we stick our heads in the sand.'

Good time to throw some eminent domain action their way. Give them a dollar for each property.

Didn’t most of this type transaction with foreign money begin during the Bill Clinton era? That still doesn’t excuse subsequent administrations from stopping it.

What we don't know, is this good or bad?

Or some good and some bad.

Are all or some of these people fleeing their countries and will be an asset to the USA?

Are all or some of them agents of the countries they come from and be a danger to the USA?

I got it! The new land owners will sue that there is a military base by their land and the US Government must close it! So they get a judge to agree and order it. The Chinese continue to buy more land next to military bases and sue. Under this administration we loss tens of military bases…….

It is not like they can take the land and leave with it. They can grow whatever and ship it home though.
The potential downside I see is poisoning the land with extra chemicals but I think that is fairly well regulated.

I can speculate up a storm, but the simplest explanation is that if you are a rich person in a sh****le country — you know, a Chinese kleptocrat afraid of the God King Emperor Xi’s next purge, a Venezuelan graft billionaire, a Russian mobster, and maybe even someone legitimate — and you were looking for a safe haven to park your stash, U.S. real estate might look pretty attractive.

Let’s say you wanted to stash money in relatively safe places. You would spread your risk; all of it wouldn’t go into the U.S. You would probably diversify across asset classes. Real estate is a classic hidey hole and, given that places like California, New York, Illinois, etc. are getting sketchy, farm ground look like a good bet. Buy it, lease it out, and let it ride. You might even retire there someday if you get a tip and have a chance to flee before the regime’s goons pick you up.

Canadian lumber companies by far the largest foreign ag land owner. Canada and Western European countries own about 75% of foreign owned land. A lot of ag states already ban almost all foreign ownership of ag land.

Biden’s owners China and Iran are the ones to watch.

Think back to the Obama-Holder-Biden-Clinton lease of Uranium One lands to Canadians, who then passed through to Russia.

Democrats and RINOs have been selling off American to the highest bidders. For decades.

These acres and acres of land may also have tunnels all through them and out to the military bases.

It is almost over...

The greatest invasion the world has ever experienced has been accomplished efficiently, quietly, and with zero resistance...

60-million Huns are already inside the gates and that is well-beyond the tipping point...
