New American Prophet ^ | February 14, 2024 | Raymond Ibrahim

Once again, Christians are being reminded that their sole and exclusive function in life is to be doormats for all and sundry. One of Super Bowl Sunday’s ads, titled “Foot Washing,” consists of several consecutive images of people washing the feet of other people.

It was a thing back in barefoot days. Not so much now. Wifey went to a church back in the day where they did that. Seems weird to me.

Who sponsored the ad? Answer that and the motive will be apparent.

Jesus washed Judas’ feet, then sent him to hell.

I had planned to try Chick-fil-a but I saw Dan Cathy shining a black rapper's tennis shoes, telling all whites to do it to atone for past sins. I've boycotted their brand since that day.

“Who sponsored the ad? Answer that and the motive will be apparent.”

The main donor is Hobby Lobby co-founder David Green, whose son is a board member at Come Near.

Now please explain his motive.

Fomenting harassment and violence against Christians is the plan.

“Wifey went to a church back in the day where they did that. Seems weird to me.”

It’s just a replication of Jesus washing His disciples’ feet in the Bible.

If he is truly an evangelical, then his motive is pure, though misguided by white guilt.

The answer to my question was going to come back as either some government agency shaming the american white for prejudices, or some guilt ridden white Christian liberal trying to say we should all welcome the invasion with a narrow and misleading interpretation of Jesus's intent.

Satan would use either one to his purposes.

Some churches still do that, in some of the Pentecostal groups, IIRC.

One of the more bizarre ads I’ve seen.

Most commercial breaks I either went to take a leak or do something while doing laundry.

Thank goodness I have not watched football, including that game, in about 30 years. Waste of my time. And I really don’t get why anyone that doesn’t support the madness puts up with it. Just don’t watch it. Just say No actually had merit.

Yep. It’s just a replication of what Jesus taught in the Bible.
Our church still does it maybe once or twice/year.
It’s an optional thing as some folks are taken back by it.
Personally, I was taken back by it the first time I heard about it...until I witnessed how it was done....now, it doesn’t bother me at all.
It’s just a light sprinkling of some water out of a water bottle onto someone’s foot...symbolic of the teaching.

I saw the ad. There was nothing Christian about it. Pure blasphemy.
