Getting more and more difficult to read the news from Fox's website. They want you to sign up and give them your e-mail address and other info. I'm done with them

Fox’s relevance is diminishing.

I get my news from Twitter, here, and Breitbart

You might consider: https://www.oann.com/ and https://thefederalist.com/ for news.

Not happening to me. (I look at Fox in the morning to see what the establishment is pushing.) It may actually be your browser. I’m still running XP-Pro and an antiquated revn of Firefox, but for certain sites I have to fire up a Windows 10 machine, running Brave. I have seen Brave demanding personal info before letting me proceed to a site. Could it also be something Windows is doing? Why I will continue with my old XP until Hell freezes over.

Welcome to the party.

For me, it was the evening of Tuesday, November 3, 2020 when Fox called Arizona for Biden at 11:20PM and four states mysteriously stopped counting votes for several hours.

Windows 10, but I don’t think that’s the problem, may have to do with location, not sure why it’s not everyone.

Another work-around for the persistent type or just the ad-blocker sites is the Opera browser, been using it across all my platforms for about 20 years (it connects all devices to each other should you desire) and has a feature called ‘inspect element’ that you can get by most blocks. I used it last night even to post a URL here.

It is for the techy types though that know the basics in HTML by removing the offending site’s drawbridge (paywalls too) code and would only consider it on a PC where you have the space to see it. (I don’t bother with sites like the NYPost or DM as they don’t even know the difference between a boy or girl)

Also on the topic is the Opera News app that I have on my phone, I see foxnews.com articles all the time on their news feed.

Indeed, I never close the tab! FWIW the owner/operator does all the work himself and is a frequent guest on Charlie Kirk’s podcasts.

Thanks, but HTML is a bit out of my realm. I’m a mainframe dinosaur, since the glorious year of ‘69 and Woodstock, when mainframes were the size of a pickup truck. I could learn it, but after about a dozen or so languages I’m done with coding and technical stuff in general. I spend about an hour or so a day on the internet, the rest of the day is spent outdoors, or in my workshop.

The terms and conditions of subscription based services can help protect their content from being used to train large language models (LLMs) without compensation. I wouldn’t be surprised if more sites do same.

Another tip off that something might be amiss at Fox News was when they appointed former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan to their board of directors in March, 2019.

Ryan is about as never Trump as you will get. He promised Trump to support funding the border wall and then stiffed him.

He’s intent on destroying Trump—even worse than Never Trump.

As FYI I just accessed Fox News online and wasn’t required to login. I didn’t encounter any popups prodding me to sign up or give my email address.
