I’ve been buying pre-pealed garlic at Walmart. It’s from Spain.
And the 39-second reason is?
(I could guess—grown in lead-heavy soils, for example?)
I have a produce store which has California garlic.
I have bought Chinese garlic in the past-I won’t anymore.
That and Swai fish from SE Asia. It’s positively disgusting how they farm it.
NO food from China or Southeast Asia! I don’t need that ….

Do they poop on it? Taint it with LSD?

#1: It’s grown in human sewer water
#2: It’s white because it’s artificially bleached with chlorine
#3: He says Chinese garlic has no roots. (I’m not so sure about this one, myself.)
#4: It may not be clearly apparent where it came from
The big bag I get from Costco is from Argentina.
A fond memory of childhood was when we drove through Gilroy. Almost to my relatives house in Monterrey.
They may have exotic Place-of-Origin-Names and have come through Ellis Island from different countries hidden in someone's socks, but they are here now and that makes them Our Garlic!
Easy to learn to grow your own, save enough to replant in the Fall and never have to get store bought garlic. Here are sources for seed garlic. (Normally planted in the fall!)
