You take midol? -- Does it really work?
- I've only heard of it in jokes, never knew anyone that used it.

Cry me a river. Should have happened before and longer.
BTW, I never asked for anyone to get suspended, that decision was made by someone else. Evidently they thought it was a good idea. Sometimes they simply hand out warnings. I know first hand.
FWIW, welcome back.

"Flame war' or Constitutional debate?"As of right now it appears to be a flame war.

And you with there wondering why "discussions" with you always turn to flame-fests.
You are either stupid or just self-absorbed to the point that you have no idea how ridiculous you look.
Buh bye. I have some hot dogs to go steam.

I hit the abuse button on TA for getting off topic. Unfortunately, someone decided that a warning (or two) was insufficient and decided to take more drastic measures.
When it gets to the point where someone gets beligerent about someone not admitting that some in their party might abuse drugs, it is getting ridiculous.
Some people rarely enter a discussion without calling others druggies, commies, pedophiles, etc, etc. and it is uncalled for.

I understand your frustration, believe me. -- But get this: --- I was once suspended for a week for 'abusing abuse'.
When abuse first came in, it was 'abused'. By a lot of us. -- I was the first to be honored to know it was to be verboten, -- at a mods discretion.]

I think it's pretty strange, -- how many here seem to think that debate over the intent of the constitution, -- is divisive.
Certainy, it can get that way. -- That's why we have rules, posting guidelines, and moderators.
Unfortunately, there is no consistent enforcement OR moderation.

That's almost funny.
I think that I've only hit it two or three times except for when we get those mass-posting-on-every-thread disruptors.
Oh yeah, I once self-abused (hehe) during the election re counts because I realized something I had posted was waaaaayyy open to the wrong interpretation.

You and Tex completely ruined that thread. You dragged in an unrelated ongoing argument and ended up taking the thread completely off topic. What was particularly galling was that you continued your flame war even after Mr. March, the subject of the article, made an appearance on the thread and even went as far as asking you to stop. You pissed him off so bad that now he is banned for using vulgar language.

I was about to respond [belatedly, I admit] to him, and offer encouragement, etc, when he blew up.
I am sorry that you think, -- that I was at fault beyond that. -- I don't see it that way at all. I'm responsible for what I actually do or say. - Not for anyones perceived opinions about my actions.

My Mom told me as a 'real smart' person it might be a good idea for me to avoid excessive debate with a fool because she said a casual observer might not be able to tell the difference.
In this case there was collateral damage. That is a shame.
I understand their "timeout", they needed a chance to eat and sleep, I do not understand one of them being allowed to continually harass and disrupt in a private forum.
One thing I can assure you is that NO-ONE should take their posting privilages for granted here!
