For some reason in these days I find comfort in that great old song This Old House by the great musical artist, Rosemary Clooney of times past. I would like to share it with all of you. !!! PING !!!
This Old House
written by S. Hamblen
This old house once knew its children
This old house once knew its wife
This old house was home and comfort
As they fought the storms of life
This old house once rang with laughter
This old house heard many shouts
Now it trembles in the darkness
When the lightning walks about
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
Ain't gonna need this house no more
Ain't got time to fix the shingles
Ain't got time to fix the floor
Ain't got time to oil the hinges
Nor to mend the window pane
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
He's getting ready to meet the saints
This old house is gettin' shaky
This old house is gettin' old
This old house has seen the rain
This old house has seen the cold
Oh his knees are gettin' chilly
But he feels no fear or pain
'Cause he sees an angel peepin'
Through a broken window pane
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
Ain't gonna need this house no more
Ain't got time to fix the shingles
Ain't got time to fix the floor
Ain't got time to oil the hinges
Nor to mend the window pane
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
He's getting ready to meet the saints
This old house is gettin' shaky
This old house is gettin' old
This old house has seen the rain
This old house has seen the cold
Oh his knees are gettin' chilly
But he feels no fear or pain
'Cause he sees an angel peepin'
Through a broken window pane
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
Ain't gonna need this house no more
Ain't got time to fix the shingles
Ain't got time to fix the floor
Ain't got time to oil the hinges
Nor to mend the window pane
Ain't gonna need this house no longer
He's getting ready to meet the saints (repeat)

I have no words that can make the pain less,
I have no words that will make things new.
All I can say is that my prayers are with you and yours in this time of grief.
May brighter days and fairer winds carry your sails to fairer shores.

Deepest sympathies, 'stix.
Has it occurred to you what a strange and wonderful thing you've just done? Sitting in a room looking at a piece of glowing glass and pressing plastic keys and touching the minds and hearts of thousands of human beings you've never met physically but who know you, after a fashion? To touch the minds and hearts of human beings is to contemplate the work of God - in the midst of pain there is comfort, in the midst of suffering, redemption, and if no single one of us can offer you the full measure it is because we are not gods ourselves, but at our very best merely little tools of His will, and, I hope, conductors of His love. Take heart.

May they rest in peace; sorry to hear about it, Fiddlstix. May the Lord grant unto them Eternal rest and perpetual light shine upon them. May the love of God and the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ bless and console you and gently wipe every tear from your eyes.
To: Fiddlstix
Oh Fiddlstix, you have suffered so many losses in such a short time. It's always sad to lose our parents, but at least when they've had a good long life, the pain isn't as great.
But losing a loved one who is younger is excruciating. Prayers are going out for your brother who is in the Arms of the Lord, and prayers to you in your grief.
To: Fiddlstix
I am so sorry you have suffered such loss and in such a short time. I know your parents' and brother's memory will always be a joy and comfort to you. They sound like they were wonderful people. They still are, just not here on earth! I am glad you are here with us. May God bless you richly.

HERE I AM LORD
I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard My people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save
I who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear My love to them
Whom shall I send?
Refrain:
Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go Lord, if You lead me
I will hold, Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne My peoples pain
I have wept for love of them
They turn away
I will break their hearts of stone
Give them hearts for love alone
I will speak my word to them
Whom shall I send?
(Refrain)
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them,
My hand will save
Finest bread, I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied
I will give My life to them
Whom shall I send?
(Refrain)
