Who piloted a fighter jet-

Like those darn Hobbit threads with 30,000+ posts. Ahem.... Some of them hobbit thread people are from Texas, perhaps if you were friendly-like, they'd help you learn how keep a conversation going! (hint, serve up the good cheer in pints!)

Those "darn Hobbit threads" are chock full of Lone Star residents -- who, like our President, seem to understand heroism very well. I hope your thread does as well...even though I'm 2,000 miles away (I have family, however, in your state). But I'll bet you will have trouble matching the loyalty and fervor of the Tolkien fans!

One of the emails a simple Texan has received.
Thank you for your web page at http://www.tomeaker.com/FReep/NIN/NIN.htm.
I was in Washington, D.C. when the Pentagon was plane-bombed. I was close enough to it to watch the windows in my hotel bulge, and feel the shockwave (of 184 innocent people being killed) hit my body. I watched the fire trucks and ambulances from Arlington as they drove down Rt. 50, past the Marine Memorial, to fight the fire and rescue the injured and retrieve the dead. I watched the smoke rise over Arlington Cemetery. I watched, and spoke with the Pentagon evacuees who walked to the Rosslyn station on that day. Most of them were in shock. I spent many hours watching and photographing the re-building, and visiting the tiny memorial trees in front of it. I saw the humvees with their machine guns pointed at me as I drove past it to buy my groceries for months, and the people sitting in unmarked cars that watched, too.
What I don't watch are movies or TV programs with the Hollywood anti-Americans in them, or the liberal-slanted news opinion-orators, commonly called news anchors. I vote with my mind, my conscience, my dollars, and my feet by thinking rationally, spending wisely and thoughtfully, and walking away from those who stand by and watch us being destroyed.
Thank you for a beautiful web page. Well done.
Signature redacted.
PS: I think that we need to have a Ouija board FReep meeting. Just not next weekend, We will be busy shooting.
Jim, when are you going to post the "shoot" thread?

Like those darn Hobbit threads with 30,000+ posts.FYI Those "darn Hobbit threads" are heavily populated by Texans. Possibly (but not counted) Texas may be better represented on our thread than any other state. So, watch your mouth when you talk about our other home!
Now, at this Texas home, can't the topic be something besides Ouija boards sometimes?
Here ya' go, this is how we start off every day in the Hobbit Hole do I'll fix it up and get ya'll goin'. I just took up plenty of T-bones off the grill. Got some baked taters just about done along with some roasted corn on the cob. The well done steaks are the ones on top. Further down the stack you go the rarer they get. Salad in the fridge with lots of dressings sitting around it. There's a cooler full of ice with tea in there. (It's already sweet.) You guys that want a brew, I don't mind but I don't buy it so bring your own please. After ya'll get your fill of supper, there's peach cobbler and Bluebell homemade vanilla. Oh, and plenty of homemade salsa and chips sittin' around on the picnic table so help yourselves. Dig in.
Now, that's how we start every day in the Hobbit Hole - lots of grub - and everybody keeps coming back for more.
I don't know all of ya'll, but keep this up and we'll get some real conversations going. Maybe even more than conversation. Ya'll hear what the Hobbit Hole's been doing for the 82nd Airborne over in Afghanistan?

I guess with this type thread there is no end or beginning to the day. I don't know how, or if, this will affect our Daily Chatter thread over at our Houston Chapter forum.
There is some rain in the ArkLaTex area as I write this. I hope, I hope, I hope it makes its way to Houston.
Thanks for coming to play and I hope you enjoy your visits. This was a one time ping because you replied to opening day. Thar ain't no list.
