lysie, our friend who took us to the Tribe game about a month ago, told me yesterday her granddaughter is volunteering with horses and hurting kids this summer, and finding it VERY rewarding.

Melissa is the sweetest kid, and it's a great thing that she's sharing her gifts with others.

Call the perennial police. Late transplanting yesterday and finishing today. So far the plants are doing well.

Catching up with the papers yesterday, I found an article on herons and ponds...

No, that's another, older girl who's working at another camp....I don't see her too much...

Melissa I see pretty often at church, usually, as she spends a lot of time with her grandmother, to their mutual delight.

Good for Carolyn! She'll be fine, and have so much to tell you when she returns.

Time to get moving on that trip to Walmart....

One year, Molly, we had one get within inches of the pond. The thing was huge. Most of the time we see herons when their legs are in water or flying. This one could have done damage to me if he wanted.

We must be in his flight route because I see him fly south of us in the morning and back north in the evening.

He hasn't bothered us for over 4 years....knock wood. He could do lots of damage..not only to the fish and plants, but to the pond liner.

Beauty of a bird, though.

Actually we have been doing fine.

We miss her like crazy, but are so excited to see her out on her own, and representing her family, and her country very well.

She is a delight, and you feel good that all those years of parenting are paying off.

She has been attending Mass while in France, and we're so proud of her to see that committment to her faith!

God has truly blessed us.

I've had the pleasure of meeting several FReepers from GA at various rallies and functions. .45MAN and I had the pleasure of meeting Lodwick and his beautiful wife last week while they were here from TX for wedding.
