Potts supports letting same-sex couples adopt
Stance differs from his rival candidates in the governor's race
by Bob Lewis
Independent gubernatorial candidate H. Russell Potts Jr. voiced unequivocal support yesterday for allowing cohabiting same-sex couples to adopt children, a stance that sharply distinguishes him from his two party rivals in this year's race.

Dog Days: July Recipe: Lot of Simmer, Bit of Sizzle
In this gubernatorial election year, think of summer as a long, dark, very hot tunnel. The candidates haven't as much dropped from sight as Virginians have blocked them out, focusing on the beach, baseball, and brewskies.
Monday morning pingage.
I think Jeffy is inbibing in more than just brewskis...........
Met Mr Potts at the Fredericksburg Parade on the 4th....he and his minions were handing out his propoganda sheet - but it neglected to actually SAY anything about him or his record.
It didn't even list his party affiliation.
He was annoying. I would go out of my way to vote for anyone other than hime.....
Well it sure looks like Potts is running hard to the left. The guy might end up making Kaine look conservative.
Don't you think that's been his plan all along?
Corin, I'd like to see Senator Allen do something to address the situation with these violent sex offenders. I know its supposed to be a state issue, but the simple fact is that it's out of control. Would the founders object to Congress stepping in when the states fail?
I say Congress needs to do something for the Jessica Lunsfords, Dylan Groenes, Polly Klaases--the list goes on--because we are not going to live to see judges change their liberal ways anytime soon. If ever.

RICHMOND, Va. - The Republican candidates for statewide office proposed amending three laws and the Virginia Constitution to prohibit government from seizing private property primarily for economic development that would generate more tax revenue.
The ticket announced the proposals Tuesday in response a U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month that municipalities can take private property for private development that meets the public purpose of creating jobs and revenue.
"We just can't allow that decision to stand," state Sen. Bill Bolling, the GOP candidate for lieutenant governor, said in a conference call with reporters. He said the ruling "is a direct threat to the important principle of private property rights."

I promise you, they're being coordinated by the Kaine Kampaign.
Everybody, including Potts, knows he's not a legitimate candidate. But Kaine thinks that making Potts legitimate will help him out.
It can't be done. Potts is a buffoon.
Kilgore narrows campaign funds gap
by Pamela Stallsmith
Republican gubernatorial candidate Jerry W. Kilgore raised about twice as much money as Democrat Timothy M. Kaine last month, almost bridging their fundraising gap.
Kaine wouldn't be ahead without the blood money from Howie Dean.
GOP candidates urge property-seizure protection
by Greg Edwards
When the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that localities could use their condemnation powers to take private property and give it to private developers, much of the reaction was quick, loud and negative.
Funding for voter database in danger
by Tyler Whitley
The State Board of Elections risks losing federal funding for a new statewide voter-registration database because the contractor working on it is so far behind schedule, the state Auditor of Public Accounts says.
Yes, Governor Warner, this is on your watch.
Potts' stand on gay adoption is a first for gubernatorial politics
by Ray McAllister (opinion)
I had never met state Sen. Russell Potts until a week and a half ago.
Click the link and take the poll about Potts' position.
That's JUST FINE. The more money Howie gives him, the less he has to give anyone else, & Kaine's still going to lose.
Oh, I know that. But it's just irritating that they keep saying Kaine is ahead in fundraising when he's clearly not really.
Potts wants to run to the left of Kaine? What kind of strategy is that?
Maybe he's bi-poll-er.
Maybe so! Here's a page at the WP that updates regularly with Virginia Campaign information:

That's funny :)

Thanks, my frind.........for obvious reasons I'm not going to be around much this weekend :)
Take it easy. And make them wait on you.
